@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

It seems that if a movie was made, it would have to come from the fan community. As others have already mentioned, I'm not sure that Sega or whoever would create this movie would consider there to be enough of a potential fanbase to warrant creating the movie.

I download his script, it use to be posted here years ago... I haven't also read it... because i don't want to, it's too painful :icon_sad: I was hoping someone else read the whole thing and post their reviews.

I don't know how to post the script here... anyone knows?

I would want it to feel exactly like an old episode of SatAM without the stylistic progression or need to make sense of or introduce the characters of the current Sonic Games Universe. With the exception of Knuckles. Given the timing of Season 2's end, I tend to believe that Season 3 intended to introduce Knuckles.

Therefore, for a movie I would wish for an hour to an hour and a half that would basically sum up what the next season would have been.

The problem with that would've been the release date. Had the movie been released back in the 90's, it wouldn't have to worry about artistic changes since everyone would've been more acquainted with it. But if it were released nowadays, it would need to be altered in order to attract the current audience.

The show may have a cult fallowing, but it's small compared to the overall demographic.

True, but it seems to me that the developers would have to make a clear decision as to which demographic they are attempting to appeal to. Any attempt to cater to the current Sonic fanbase (Modern, I mean) would undermine the completely 100% different feeling which was Satam. Attempts made by Archie have at best made:

1) the transition of Modern Sonic more palatable to Satam fans
2) Satam Sonic's influence to be tolerable to modern universe Sonic. (Gradually over time it has become clear which stylistic change we are leaning toward.

All of this resulting in a completely separate feeling Sonic universe,

Of course anything made now would always feel separate from the original. It would only be, at best, a very well done homage to something precious of our childhood's. Part of this is because only the fan community could produce such a movie, which is a fact both disappointing and wholly relieving. The fact that it would be purely fan made means that it would be as catering to the Satam fanbase as only a SatAm centric fanbase would produce, and also no one would die of rage fits if it wasn't exactly what they pictured or had in mind. Because, lets face it, dear fandom at large, we all have a very clear idea in our mind's what this sort of project "should" look like, and every person's vision is unique to themselves. The fact that every fan's vision is so unique is also why a fan project should be wide sweeping and inclusive to the fan's to bring to life.
The other very important thing to keep in mind in such a production is that not every aspect of the original product was created in mind with the effect it resulted in. There is concept, there is ability --which is constrained by budget, the talent of the people within the budget or immediate availability, as well as ability as it pertains to time)--there are the changes which had to be made to the original concept due to reaction to the public, "catering" to the demographic of the times (age, time slot, advertising, ect) ---and finally there is the execution and effect it created. Basically, what I mean to say is there is always an element of "magic" involved in what any one specific creative endeavor results in. Not every aspect is creator-controlled. For example if the head animator is able to maintain the 90s style, but none of the original staff seems to be able to prevent stylistic changes from seeping in, the end result is still mostly stylized, whether that was the intent or not.

And believe me, I have a few specific thoughts on the matter of creating such a project ;)

Also pardon my crappy typing. I no sleeps. :P

Mmm... well, I remember those late 90s movies based on TV series which were nothing more than abridged, copy-paste versions of the general storyline. Some were good though (I remember the Dogtanian movie did a good job summarising the series).

How about making a movie based on this future animated Sea3on? When the season is finished, both in comic and animated form (years to come, I know), an hour and a half-long recap would be nice. And then we could summarise the first two seasons too.
