Red said he couldnt get one

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

You wouldn't know mercy if you went to Mercy Hospital. ;)

In all seriousness, I kinda liked the first group of pics. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't want one in my house or anything...

This is by far, one of the freakiest things i've ever seen in my life. I mean, there's a line people! And, it's got nipples! Something tells me this whole girlfriend thing is a complete lie. No one would find this normal (present company excluded for those few that do).

My same reaction to the comments. But even if you all are joking, i don't think criticizing this doll is something that should be done. I'm just surprised that this thing doesn't freak me out in the slightest. Not one bit. I even tested it out, too! I stared into the eyes of the pic that stares into the camera, and i didn't freak out. I just think it's kinda wrong to criticize this the way everyone is, even if it's just joking around.

We already admitted the 'creativity' is somewhat impressive, but the concept is just freaky. I'm surprised you're so defensive of this guy's work, its sick.

I'm defensive not for me liking it, cause i do for some reason, but i'm defending his work because that's who i am. I am always the one who stands up for other people, even when no one else will. AND think of this as the "Uncanny Valley." A Sally plush doll, 6 inches, is cute, fun, and a lot of people will like it. Making it bigger could make more people like it. (Or something like that.) Modifying that to life size and giving it human articulation and what not will most likely, as seen now, bring that popularity down. Maybe if he makes a second version, it will look better than this one and will be popular. That is the "Uncanny Valley." Here's an example.

I'm less freaked out on the creativity and more freaked on his comments and what he does with it. And the poses in the pictures doesn't help.

Again, the Uncanny Valley. The way it is used can affect it, so getting it to be more popular, it'd have to be put in a better, less awkward use.

Maybe if he hadn't given it nipples and dressed it in lingirie we would be less creeped out. It doesn't help that the guy seems halfway to psychotic. I understand what your saying, but it's kind of like defending a mad scientist: it's a cool invention, but think of what he's going to do with it!

I. Do. NOT. CARE. What he does. With the DAMN. THING.

If he uses it as a sex toy, good for him. e found someone to run away with. If he uses it for fantasizing a kidnapping, rape, and who knows what else, i don't care. I can honestly say that at least one fourth of my friends would do the same thing. But do i say anything? NO. For this as an example, just smile, nod, and walk away.

This is just like the original Uncanny Valley. Making a robot, and it looks like metal and all, like a robot should. Everyone likes it. Then, they make it look human and give it human traits. Then the popularity goes down. A lot.

The reason: When it wasn't a human look-a-like, it was fun to watch them move and stuff. They were new, and they fascinated many people. But when they made them look human, it looked creepy. Their faces haunt kids in there sleep. They weren't cool anymore, and no one would come within a mile of these robots.

Now a days, we have better engineering and stuff, so they look more human and better.........which could go either way with people now.

Well, I think it's a clever concept. I don't care enough about the project to go over and read his notes or the comments he's received but I do think he's made something clever, there.

I'm guessing he gave it a skeleton because that's what a human body has, so giving a doll the same core as a human body makes sense. The padding's going to fit around in a similar way, presumably, and it's going to move in the same way as a body would. And plainly he's going for the 'human' bodyshape for Sally rather than her original SatAM look (no noticeable knees, etc.).

As for the way he uses the doll... well, again: why not? He's not harming anyone.
