@  furrykef : (25 July 2015 - 03:35 AM)

When was that? Depending on when it was, it might have been a DNS issue. Those should be gone now.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

Red said he couldnt get one

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

I know that there is a small chance(And i mean SMALL) that SatAm will come back on television, But what if FUS was to make a WebShow out of season 3. I know there is a comic in the works of it and dont get me wrong i love it and always stay updated, but what if the people that make the comic put what they have into an internet cartoon, For example, every new episode would be released on saturday mornings to keep SatAms spirit, and each chapter of the comic could be like one to two episodes, if not shorter or made into seperate episodes. That way FUS could introduce SatAm to new fans, and keep SatAm alive, and perhaps, get Sega to spot it and see how popular it would get.(Even though that probably would not happen). If you agree post your opinion, if not post it anyway. It could work and It can be a reality, there just has to be will and hope
There is still a whole lot of hope in this young SatAm fan.

The thing is....
Sega doesn't listen to the fans. They do their thing, and as the angry video game nerd rants, "they get a quick buck for this shitload of f***k".
Many satam petitions have gone into sega. None have even been put into business. Sega is actually TROLLFACTORY USA.
Other than these blips, I agree with you. If the site does that stuff, more views, more fans, more users, and we get to see nostalgia critic review them!
Anyways, I wholeheartedly agree with you, but remember: the trolls own sega.

As a matter of fact, a while back I spoke to a few people about having an animated season 3, and it was suggested to me to animate Sea3on itself. Have a few people already interested in participating in it already as well as a voice cast I am going to be using for it. I just have not gotten on to it yet due to time issues, but you might see it soon. :)

I don't know if the people have time to make an entire show. Don't get me wrong I think it's a great idea and I'm all for it, but I believe (I don't know for sure) that it takes a long time to make those shows. And FUS gets a page of a comic out per week. I think that if you got enough people together you could make it but I don't think you'd be able to put a show out every week. I may be completely wrong because I don't know much about making animated cartoons.

This also brings up another point: Why do we post the new SatAm Season 3 comic pages on Friday? Why not Saturday?

@reed: Sega pays some attention to what the fans want with the release of Sonic Generations. Trying to bring back the old Sonic in a way. But I do agree this seems like a half hearted attempt and not enough to actually please the fans.

@:NTheFox - if you made that show and got it out to the public then it would display how popular Satam is. The problem is many of the old SatAm fans don't talk on the forums and aren't involved. If you were able to get them to watch it I bet Sega would pay some attention to it.

Don't think I haven't thought about that as well. (I was one of the ones talking to Morgan about it). The reality is that it takes a lot of time and resources to do something like that. That being said, it takes even more to do it well...as it should be done. Honestly...if this were to be done were not talking about an episode a week...but more like an episode a year. It's something I've thought a lot about and would love to see happen...but it's nothing that'll be happening soon (if at all).

Full blown out animated, yes, that is a lot of hard work and time. I think our idea was more along the lines of like fake screen shots, based on Sea3on's story and the use of most of the F3 voice cast. There wasn't in depth planning but the rough idea is there. If we (me, Bakuda, possibly saber and Segamew as I think they were interested) can get it up and going, we can talk then about what we need and who we need to do them. :)

Why Saturday? Why not Wednesday? Why not base it on the lunar cycle?;)

Release day used to be Monday but was moved to the end of the week - before the weekend - to suit the artist's schedule. Other than that there is no real method to this madness.

Who updates a weekly comic on Saturdays? Your big comic days are Monday, Wednesday and Friday. With the exception of some comics that update every Tuesday and Thursday. And of course your comics that do all 5 weekdays and sometimes a daily schedule. Normally you won't find a comic that only updates every Saturday and only Saturday. Friday seemed like a good choice do to it being the end of the work week. Gives you that nice treat to read on your final day of work/school.

John is half right about the scheduling. We did update on Mondays for a while to suit our old artists schedule, however Friday was our first weekly schedule, then Monday for a bit, now its back to Friday.

Of course the in between chapter shorts are scheduled for every Monday AND Friday but..That's a whole different story.

As far as creating a animated web series.. Thought about it. But 2 issues lie with it. 1, FUS isn't big enough to host a web series yet. Meaning we lack a audience. I wouldn't try something like that in less FUS was pushing 300-500 thousand individual viewers. We don't get that.

Your second issue would be funding such a project. Even if you have a staff that mostly volunteers the thing will be a money pit. We can't make any money off doing such a show due to copyrights and fun stuff. If you have that large audience of half a million then you could probably pay a large chunk with money we get from ads. However to give you a idea of the profit the ads pull out right now... It would take 8-12 months for the ads to pay for a single month of our current expenses. Lets not forget, we already pay the writer and artist for Sea3on and we get nothing in return there.

Granted our server costs are up there. Mostly because we will be adding another 2 websites to it down the road. One small one one fairly large one.

So I'll stop my rambling with a simple answer. If FUS grows to the size needed for a web series to be possible..There is a chance we will do it. No promises though.

Ever thought of taking up a collection? Your patronage may be small, but if they're willing to donate significant amounts in exchange for an animated series it makes up for it. It wouldn't have to be all at once either; people could give when the could and once the amount collected was enough for another episode, produce it. As far as hosting, don't. That's what Newgrounds and Youtube are for.

However YouTube and Newgrounds are dangerous waters to tread. So is asking for donations. It sounds more of something first the crew behind Sea3on would have to decide for themselves, and than run it through the members here. And personally, I'd like to see an example of what FUS can do for a animated series before putting money into it. Like a pilot episode. That way we know how well it will be and if it is worth the time, effort, and fundings.

Nah, don't need donations. Thats one thing we wish to stay away from. Basically I won't even consider taking on a project of this size right now anyways. Too much on the go regardless, I'm already trying to get enough started and going to have to worry about or think about a animation.

Yeah. If Sega ever seriously considered doing a game of the american Sonic, I fucking bet you it'd be of AOSTH. That show has a bigger fanbase, and with the youtube poops more people like the show now.

Yeah sadly, people seem to like AOSTH more. I don't know why. I tried watching the show on Youtube to see if it was worth my time, and I couldn't stand the show.

They already made an american sonic game. It was Mean Bean Machine.
And people love AOSTH because it tried to be like looney toons.

I really don't get that at all.

Why on earth would they prefer AOSTH over Satam to begin with? It has no substance or depth at all.

Granted, it's very funny and good for a laugh every now and then, but that's all.

It's not a series a fanbase can really get behind and follow.

The fact DIC made a looney toons styled Sonic show was a really bad idea.

Looney toons is funny and all, but that was just DIC being lazy and cheap.

AOSTH aired weekly. It had much more exposure and longer running.
SatAM was confined to early morning saturdays and a piddly two seasons.

Yea, I'm aware of that sad fact.

Satam really should have gotten that exposure AOSTH had.
