The lowest price on Amazon for a new copy as of 4/29/2012 is $76.81 and used copies going for $59.99! I think they only had 5 sets on there last time I checked.
Lowest used price on eBay is just under 30 bucks, and I'm only seeing 2 copies on there as of now.
Looks like my sealed copy may just become a collector's item after all!
I'm really tempted to buy some of the other Sonic DVDs on their website now... especially the "AoStH 3" DVDs. Only $7.99, and you can only purchase them from their online store. If that license runs out I wouldn't expect a lot of them to be out there... then again the collector's value for that probably won't be as much as SatAM will get.

Well guys, hope you've already got your box set, cause if you haven't it's gonna start costing you now!

Just remember Karen, it's only worth as much as someone willl willing to pay for it. Sure someone could pay $75+ for the Shout!Factory release, but there's nothing stopping them from buying the UK release of the boxset at under £10. It's the same as the Shout!Factory one, it's region 0 which allows people to play it anywhere in the world, complete with all the bonus features, the only difference being the box art work.
People will charge what they think it's worth to make a pretty penny, but Shout!Factory's SatAM set ani't not Mystery Science Theater 3000 volume 9 boxset, which has one new copy on amazon.com for a hefty $500 and a bunch of used between $141 and $400.
"The Devil Inside is the new scam from director William Something Something. The movie stars actors and was edited on a computer. Somewhere. This movie is the latest film in a series of very low budget films designed to look like real movies! And be released in theaters to make a quick buck via a horribly off kilter budget to profit ratio that the general public seem to be stupidly unaware of! These films use to be called 'direct to video' but now they are called 'first run features'. These films then vanish from the theaters, like a rapist leaving the scene of a crime." - Mike Stoklasa of RedLetterMedia

Case in point, http://www.amazon.co...35901191&sr=8-3
People were charging upwards $100 bucks for it. Now it's back to $10. Quite stupid.
... Though, with this sudden scarceness of the boxset, I'm pretty happy to have it on my shelf.

You can do some searches and still find a few places that will sell it for under 20 bucks, but for sure, the Shout! Factory release is starting to become rare. Still a nice SatAM collectors item though.
