I know there are a lot of sally haters out there but i want an honest discussion about your feelings towards her and other female characters such as julie su and lien-da. Personally I think Sally is a very good character that is a perfect match for sonic. I know she has her faults, and she is pretty much useless in the newer comics but come on, she is still a freedom fighter, and would you rather have a 12 year old dating a 17 year old? Lien-da is my favorite female character, despite her being power hungry and a total bitch, but she still has her pros.



Also, Who agrees with me that Sally should at least make an appearance in generations, or a cameo. Come on people.

Sally's a good, overrated character I don't want in the games. She's pretty overwhelming in terms of cast attention, but she's fairly solid I suppose. I like her when she's not being glorified.
Lien-Da is an interesting mess, whose inability to do anything right is sad but also intriguing. She's very good at getting herself in bad situations.
Julie-Su is fun when she gets to do stuff, even if she's got a really, really weird backstory. It's nice seeing a Knuckles who doesn't get all their answers, a group of deity guardians or godlike superpowers to let them coast through life.
Amy Rose is fun and the comic ignores her more than it should.

My feelings on Sally is a simple conclusion.

Sally is a character with alot of potential to be one of the best of the Sonic Franchise. But at the same time, she needs a writer who will utilize her correctly, as Ben Hurst did.

If a writer doesn't use good judgment when writing Sally's personality, it will make look her very bad, as Karl Bollers and Ken Penders did.

As for Julie-su, She's my 3rd favorite Sonic gal of the bunch. She's one of those characters who can kick serious butt, but has been seriously under used in the comic.

I mean, here's a echnida gal who a weapon and knows to use it, and instead is basically used as a character in the background more than as one of the regulars. It's really sad.

Lien-Da is another who hasn't utilized correctly. She to me is the perfect rival to Julie Su, working behind the scenes to take over Eggman's Empire.

I'm kinda curious as to why we haven't seen her at least trying to come up with a brilliant betrayal plan yet.

I know she's thinking about it. Thing is, what is she planning to do?

I agree with this 100%

I know alot of people think Sally would be a useless character if she ever made an appearance, but that couldn't be further from the truth.

As I said, all she needs is someone who will be willing to utilize her correctly, and she would fit in just fine.

Too bad Sega has no intentions of ever doing that.

Sally has and always will be THE girl for Sonic in my eyes. She know how to make the plans of attack and stick with them, and like some said, she has her ups and her downs. But all in all she's a good character to use, if you can write her character right.

I'd actually be content if they gave her the same role like Alia has in the Megaman X games.

Growing up on SatAM I always liked the character of Sally. As was stated before, Ben Hurst really knew how to utilize Sally as a character and he did so wonderfully, and it is for this reason I wouldn't want Sally in the games. Ben obviously cared for Sally as a character and treater her with the respect she deserves, but Sega has shown many times that they could care less about Sally. Without the proper respect to her character, Sally's appearance in the games would not work too well.

Can't argue with this assessment sadly.

As much as I would love to see Sally in a Sonic game, I wouldn't want it if it meant her personality and character would be tarnished in the process.

Yeah That is a very good point, cant really argue with that one. Sally in a game would not go down when you put it that way. Ben really knew how to develop and respect characters.

It depends on who's making the game. If we're talking about a game made by Sega as we know them today, the point is moot because they don't care about Sally in the first place, and it's kind of useless to speculate on how they'd use a character they have no interest in. So we'd have to be talking about some other company -- maybe an idealized version of Sega, maybe another developer entirely -- in which case of course there's a chance they'd know what they're doing and use Sally correctly.
