But I can see your pain. You spend a ton of money following a franchise, only to have its creators go "...And none of that really matters anymore." It's almost insulting in that regard.

You mean like how they did with Spiderman: One More DayI personally think that's interesting. Though, I certainly look at the DC continuity as a part of American History anyway, and not a part of any one particular character's development. Especially since I have a hard time believing that ALL of Batman's history is actually applicable to any Batman continuity we have today. (I mean, have you read any of the 50's Batman comic books? There's no way "Zebra Batman" was the same caped crusader that was in The Killing Joke.)
