Seriously, the show had bad animation (as did pretty much all TV shows of the time) and often predictable plots. Fred's character is interesting, I suppose, but he's still just an incarnation of the Ralph Kramden archetype. All of the other Flintstones characters seem dull and one-dimensional to me, though at least Mel Blanc's voice gave Barney some life.

And in my opinion, the original Flintstones wasn't very good anyway. Though we agree there's no particular need for a remake!

Of course Fred was an incarnation of Ralph Kramden...the Honeymooners was the most popular show on the air at the time the Flinstones began. And as far as animation is concerned you really can't compare the quality of the Flinstones to todays standards. As you said, "show had bad animation (as did pretty much all TV shows of the time)". Another way to look at that statement is that the animation of the Flinstones is comparable to other animation of the day. That was about as far as animation had gone at that time and when you consider they released one episode a week I imagine they were doing pretty good.

If he does it well great! If not, well he'll get run over by cave-man cars.

Also I am aware that Seth has done kids shows in the past, he actually has quite a list of stuff he has worked on. So.. You never know.

If he does reboot The Flintstones, it might actually be interesting for once. But it would start off like every other MacFarlane show: We're gonna see a pint-sized talking character, a talking animal/creature, and the same family structure with the same odd situations thrown at them. It might find its own identity later on (The Cleavland Show only recently finally stopped sounding exactly like Family Guy when your head was turned away from the screen), but for the most part.... yeah. It's gonna be like Family Guy for a while. Except this time the animals might talk back when they're being used as household appliances.
Believe it or not...

some others on this forum have different ideas on Family Guy, mainly because of older members since banned made a mess of things for a while. (I think so anyway. Didn't "Animator X" work for MacFarlane's shows?)
It's a long story. the point is that I'm focusing on the show's creator and not the shows crew. I've already said what I think of MacFarlane, so we'll see what he does with The Flintstones. I know I'll probably watch it for a few episodes.
