Well, maybe the bigwigs at archie got sick of the Doctor always losing(even though its fine with the readers) and let him somewhat win....but WHY SALLY???? Why not a minor character like Amy, Mina, or possibly the occasional Nack the weasel?
No offense to fans of the three aforementioned parties, but still: it would still bring the same reaction from sonic(except for nack) and it would be an impressive twist. Killing Sal is a crime punishable by death, Mr. Ian. You will perish in the lowest circle of hell for eternity.

Well I just got done reading the first part of Genesis. What stood out in this issue was not the actual story, but the Sonic Grams on the last page which basically all concerned Sally's so-called death in the prev. issue. Some of them were expressing disappointment and betrayal to the comic if the death was for real, and even one person who wrote in said they would no longer support the comic if Sally was dead.

If Ian kept Sally dead(which would be a bad idea in my opinion), then the letters help give us an idea of what would happen to much of the comics' support in the coming future.

So I think Sally will live based on this evidence.

I think you may be right on this.

Having Sally dead will end up causing more trouble for Ian than it's worth.

I'm guessing that Ian's schedule is not so tight that he hadn't planned this whole thing out. They're probably just milking the tension for as long as they think they can get away with. 'Cause kids like waiting half a year for a story to resolve! (Hint: sarcasm.)

That's what I'm beginning to think too. Ian thought he had this amazing story where he would get a shock from the audience about Sally's fate, but then didn't think throughly about what to do next in order to justify this decision.

Another reason why he's not the right writer for the job.

When Eggman hit the button, it made Genesis start, which was his whole big deal since Iron Dominion ended. Interviews say a life hangs in the balance during Genesis, part 3 has "old memories resurfacing." It's not just "not a detour from the plot," it's the MAJOR FOCUS of the plot.

Jesus, when Eggman hit the button to change everything THAT WAS GENESIS STARTING, which WE STILL DON'T KNOW the full ramifications of his scheme. How COULD it be a sidetrack with everything leading up to this for over a year?

You still didn't answer my question. Again, why did everything go back to the beginning when Eggman hit that button? What was the point in that? You really think that was part of his plan?

"Oh, I'll make a device that will restart everything over for the time being so I can nail the Freedom Fighters in a more primitive environment. Yea, brilliant plan if I do say myself."

This Genesis arc is completely pointless. There was no need for it, nor was it even necessary when the life of a Freedom Fighter hangs in the balance.

You show me an earlier issue that shows us this was Eggman's plan from the beginning. I do not believe that for a second.

This is what we writers call, a quick fix.

Sally probably was killed by that gun, but since Ian didn't want to suffer the wrath of the fans who care about this character, he made this deus ex machina styled story to cover his hide so he can say, "See, Sally's ok, everyone."

Nice to see you mention people's account names on here when talking about this.

But, I think one thing we can all agree on, is the fact nobody can say for sure what will happen except for Ian because we can't read his mind about what he's got planned.

Still, I can't see how this Genesis arc isn't anything but a shortcut to possibly revive Sally after the 225 attack.

Since everything is restarted, and events during Genesis will more than likely change the present, Sally getting shot from 225 ironically could be reversed once everything is returned to normal.

This is just what I think will happen though.

The letters page was interesting as well.

Nice to see the fans show their displeasure for the idea of what happened to Sally.

I find it ironic though that the editor just basically says to most of the letters, "Stay tuned, you won't be disappointed."

The way Ian has been acting on bumbleking lately, he is making it sound like he really has killed off Sally. I think I may have had it with him, to be honest. I know can be bunt and speak my mind on his forum and it ticks people off and it seems like that all I care about in the comic is Sonic and Sally(though I admit it is an important part of the comic to me and what makes it speical to me), but it seems like often Archie does things to hurt Sally and her relationship with Sonic; I can't help but get defensive. Still, I wish he would show some sympathy to Sally and Sonic and Sally fans instead of seemly treating them with contempt and like they don't matter. I am beginning to think it might be time to start asking for a new writer, as well as editor for the Archie comic, one that would respect Sally her(and Sonic and Sally's)fans.

Meh I never really cared about the comic and unlike alot of people I certainly never considered it the official continuation of SatAM. I don't know if I just read the comic at a bad time but the issues I saw were a mess. It was hard for me to stay into it when the art style changed almost every damn issue.

Well, Ian is known as a master bluffer as well.

He might be saying these things just to throw us off.

Then again, maybe not.

One thing I do know. If Sally is indeed killed off, I'm done with the comic.

I will never read another issue, nor will I ever speak kindly of Ian either.

Hopefully when it's all said and done, Ian will show us he didn't have the guts to pull off a move this insane.

ok i have to say this even though no one has posted in two weeks. I'm not sure if anyone has said this yet, but i NEED to say it.

The way "Genesis" was executed was wrong. TERRIBLY wrong. Why?

First off, Sonic, Sally, and everyone else met in Mobotropolis. Not in some random place in Green Hill Zone. If time had reset, then it would start with the invasion.

Second, while i do get that Ian might have resorted to "Genesis" to familiarize new readers, (most likely younger readers.) SatAM/Archie and the normal Sega games are two DIFFERENT things. If Ian wanted to familiarize new readers, he should have started with the invasion of Mobotropolis and not the first game.

Third, if "Genesis" is gonna tie in with a "Sonic Generations" story line, then how will it be made? (I heard that it will only introduce the game in it's own style, like the Sonic Colors short and Sonic Unleashed short.) Eggman/Robotnick turned back time to create a new future. Unless there's a rip in "the fabric of time" or something, then it would not work. BUT, since the final boss is named "Time Eater", maybe Robotnick could've accidentally created Time Eater or something.

But seriously, how will this work?

Well, I haven't really read anything about what Ian has planned for Genesis, but I have read the first issue of it. In my opinion, it wasn't an attempt to show how they all met, or even to rewrite history. It is obviously some "Master plan" by Robotnik to destroy Sonic, big surprise, the only question is what it is exactly. Despite the changed appearance of Robotnik, we no he's not the original but the new "Eggman" one, since A. They call him Eggman and B. He still has some memories of his master plan. Since its the "Eggman" version of Robotnik we know it can't be the past, since he didn't show up until after the first one died. My guess would be that Robotnik just changed the present to reflect Sonic's first adventures, minds and appearance included, with the hopes that he would have a shot at winning if everything was as before Sonic got as strong as he is now. I really just see Genesis as a celebration o Sonic's origins.

In the super old archie comic sonic 0, it says that sonic met sally and she showed him knothole. He met her near one of robotniks work camps.

And besides, new robotnik is incredulously stupid. I prefer the old, super evil robotnik.

Yes, I cringed when I first saw her. Though Sonic's reaction when they changed her coloring was pretty funny.
