@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

Oh dear...

I... honestly don't have any idea with what's currently going on in the story. Wonder how the fans will take this.

Personally with all that's happened to Sally and how much she dragged down Sonic and the series after awhile, I hope she stays dead. I'd rather that as opposed to her being Ian's plot-contorting little Mary-Sue. A part of me though thinks he's too attached to her to let that happen and will magically revive her somehow through Genesis.

But I think it'd be for the best. I mean, besides being Sonic's girlfriend, she doesn't really have much story potential to keep her going anymore. You tell me, with all that's happened, what's Ian gonna do with her now, make more time-wasting love triangles or have her point her finger and scream some battlecry under the pretense she's leading? Her being the leader isn't really enough to offer much in story potential. She lacks internal issues now to develop with, so she felt sort of ... bland before she died.

I'm going to take this with a grain of salt till I read the issue for myself.

Considering everything's fading white there like in DC's Zero Hour, I bet this happens right before the universe resets for the Sonic 1 reboot story.

Woah...that's kindof crazy. Good thing I don't follow the comic :)

But really...that would be absolutely lame if they tried the "let's kill Sally" stunt again. Come on.

If Ian dares to attempt what I think he's attempting, this comic will be dead to me.

But, as Darkfox says, it's best to wait and see before judging this issue.

In a morbid way, I'm kinda optimistic. Archie as a company has seemingly in my mind been in denial as to the older fans who are the reason this comic is still on life support and doing this would pull the plug on their (supposedly) biggest cash cow. this, in a weird way, may bloom fresh fruit for us to devour on.

The meer fact that a site like Tv Tropes talks about this comic in the Same vein as the other popular superhero books and things like Linkara having the comic be the most wanted thing fof him to review, speak's millions about the real readership

Thanks for the spoiler warning, henryii. Jesus, at least Miko on SMS had the courtesey to NOT piss all over the fans who actually read the book by giving them a chance not to look.

Sorry I made you mad Gojira. It's just that news like this is going to spread like wildfire and therefore stopping it would only be futile in my mind

That's really not an excuse. First off, I don't share your confidence that this is going to "spread like wildfire"; a thread per Sonic board at most is all I'd guess. And if, by some circumstance, it becomes headline news on, say, Sonic Stadium or something, I bet they'd have the decency to Spoiler Warning for it like Miko did.

Honestly, all things told I suppose it's not that big a deal in the end, but I still find your choice of delivery of this news a touch frustrating. By the morning, I'll probably be over it, but I just hope you keep this sort of thing in mind if something like this comes up again.

Well, I think it would be headline news for anyone with an inkling of intrest in the western continuity.

Anyways, I'll try and be more discreet next time.

Thank you for that, sincerely.

Seeing as how I'm here anyway, I may as well offer up one rather significant bit of info we all seem to be overlooking: we don't actually see Sally's body here. Not holding the actual issue in my hand, I can't say for sure, but this feels intentionally designed to leave the door open on Sally's ultimate fate.

I think Sally death is a red herring for someone else's death.

What I said about it on the Sega forums:

First off Richard shouldn't have done what he did, but he did, and if Ian finds out, Ian will be ****ed off at him more than he has been at folks like me.

But since the cat's out the bag, sort of speak, who's to say she is dead. Did we see a dead body? No. Did we see a dead hand? No. All we saw was broken goggles, and heard a "blam blam" sound. Who to say she didn't duck when being fired on and the blast hit the goggles instead.

Folks, we have seen this many times in comics, and movies and shows alike. It's called a "CLIFFHANGER and going into Genesis will possibly help answer that cliffhanger.

Richard, again you shouldn't have spoiled things. I know how you feel, when "ENDGAME began back in '97 I felt the same way. But that was then, this is now.

And being a long time reader and subscriber of the book, I've kind have an idea how things in one issue to multi issue stories are going to pan out.

Another thing, despite how you feel about Ian Flynn right now, you have to remember that he too was once a fan of the comic. So put yourself in his shoes, as fan (in the position he's currently in) ask yourself this, "How I would write the 225th anniversey issue of Sonic and tie it in with the 20th anniversey of the overall franchise?

And remember, Sally's not the only character being possible affected by this. Other characters are too.

And asked yourself one more thing, if she's dead, then why did Bates and Admins, say she was going to be fine and also if she is dead, why is she in "GENESIS?".

Just saying.

Think about it Richard.

Again, nothing has been set in stone. Besides, in the newsarama interview that Ian did, it states, not a death, but "Life hanging in the Balance."

So again, it goes back to being a "cliffhanger" issue.

Sorta like what the final "Harry Potter" Movies are right now, part one was released in November, Part two this summer. And what the final upcoming "Twlight" films will be like, Part one will be released this November, and part two in November 2012.

But if you want a better example, try television series finales that end in cliffhangers, then conculed in their series premiere the following fall. That is what this is like.

So again, nothing is set in stone, and if "GENESIS has any answers, it will provide them.

But if not, then we and anyone else interested, will have to wait till October 2011 and issue 230 to get some real clear answers.

I generally don't reply in these topics, but I thought that too. xD I stopped keeping up with the comics around #100 and stopped buying at #184. So I'm not quite up to speed as to what's going on, but cracked goggles don't really tell me Sally's dead. Not conclusively.
