Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

TL;DR version: I got gypped out of service hours by some obese chick. The moral of this story? Don't bite the hand that feeds you. Especially when you're a fatass!

Before you ask: no, I'm not a juvenile delinquent. I have to work for National Honor Society at my school, and to do so I have to do 15 hours of work per semester. This I'm fine with. What I'm not fine with is when the person who needed your help in the first place acts disrespectful towards you.

To elaborate: I had to work at a farmstead for roughly three hours. The rather large lady who hired me told me that I needed to pick up sticks due to a recent storm breaking branches off of trees. So I did that for about an hour and a half until I couldn't find any more around sticks the area. Then, I was left with nothing to do, so I got a nice drink of water. After my five minute respite, I decided to try and help some kids with shoveling for another thirty minutes. Once they weren't in need of any more help, I decided to take a look around the area and see if there were any sticks that I had yet to collect. This lasted for about ten minutes or so. I decided that I needed another drink at this point, and on my way back, I come across none other than miss lardball herself.

I tried to tell her that I'd been looking for her, but she told me that I hadn't been productive. Keeping my composure, I asked her why she thought this. She told me that I did nothing but wander for a good majority of the time. Clearly, she forgot that wandering was part of the job in terms of picking up sticks scattered thoughout your farmstead. I told her that that was what I was doing, and she still called me lazy for it. To add insult to injury, she said that I wasn't productive the last time I was there, either. What a load of crock. I shoveled for three hours the last time I was there, and I stopped only to get water for the two girls who I worked with.

After she mentioned that, she told me that I was dismissed. I asked about salvaging the two hours and thirty minutes that I worked, but she told me that I could only have one. I even offered to work longer, in order to allow my ride to get there. She told me that what I did was it, and there wasn't any use for me. I had to leave the farm, and apparently she expected me to go to Popeye's or something because we were in the middle of nowhere.

I'm not going back to work there if the work that I'm doing isn't being appreciated. Especially considering that she, you know, sort of hired me in the first place. If you want people to work for you, let them work for you. Don't hide and get angry at them when they don't know what to do.

Oh man I know what that's like. I was in NHS when I was in high school, and people get pretty power hungry when THEY hire YOU. It seems like people are fairly nice until they start getting in charge of a group, then they get picky and start forgetting important things just so they can start yelling about something.
You just wasted two seconds reading this signature.
