So I also posted this topic on the SMS boards, but just because these things entertain me...

While I know that many people dislike the romance debates that seem to incessantly revolve around the Sonicverse, the rest of us get a kick out of pairing up various characters and then rooting for them to work. We have our 'pet' couples and love to discuss the ins and outs of the potential relationship, even though we know we'll never change anyone's mind (though that doesn't stop us from trying!). Some of our fan couples would invoke some serious continuity screw-ups/mash-ups, Sega will never pick them up, and most people would consider them really, really weird, but we don't care, because they make sense to US and seeing any hint of the coupling makes us go "SQUEEEEE!"

So, here's a few of my preferred pairings:
1. Sonic/Sally - Okay, kind of goes without saying. Not so weird.
2. Tails/Cream - Again, not so weird.
3. Bunnie/Manic - Remember Manic? Best thing to come out of Sonic Underground? Mechanic and hacker extraordinaire? Oh yeah.
4. Antoine/Amy - Yes, i'm serious. This could be awesome.
5. Silver/Sonia - Well, I like it.
6. Blaze/Shadow - There's a fairly large fan community for this one.
7. Knuckles/Tikal - Not so odd, though it would have to involve some serious time manipulation - but, um, this is the Sonicverse.
8. Rouge/Espio - The two kind of aloof ninja-types. Oooooooooh yeah.

So... who are YOUR favorite couples, official, unofficial, or "this one will never see the light of day"?

Tails and Amy would be interesting I think. Amy gets upset about Sonic not noticing her in the way she wants, Tails gives her a shoulder to cry on, one thing leads to another... lol. Could work in any continuity they are in.

I will always be pro Sonic/Sally, no other couple better than them.
Antione/Bunnie has already been put together, and besides, I like them as a couple,they fit well with each other.
Knuckles/Julie-Su, they fit well together, plus they already have a kid (M25YL), so can't really put Knux with anyone else.
Rouge/Espio, for some odd reason,they seem to fit...the whole ninja/spy thing.
Tails/Mina...M25YL...can't say much about it except that.

These are my personal favorites.

1. Sonic/Sally - Should be a canon pairing by Sega, even though they
prefer their mascot to play the bachelor. Go figure.

2. Knuckles/Julie-Su - Another pairing that should be canon IMO.

3. Tails/Mina - As much as I'm tempted to go with Fiona or even Cream as his girlfriend, I like the idea of him with Mina a bit more. They just seem to have similar temperaments when it comes to their personality.

4. Antoine/Bunnie - Even though I'm not that crazy about this pairing, I really couldn't think of anyone better for either of them to be with.

5. Manic/Amy - This one probably isn't that popular, but I like the idea of Amy being paired with Manic. Since he is Sonic's brother, it might work.

6. Shadow/Sonia - Another pairing this doesn't get much love, but I like it. I mean, the idea of Sonic's sister being in love with his rival does add an interesting flavor to the mix.

7. Sleet/Rouge - I wouldn't exactly call this a pairing, or even a chance of it ever happening, but for some reason, I kinda like the idea of these 2 as partners if nothing else. Their personalities are very similar when you think about. They're both good bounty hunters, incredibly devious, and can be competent villains as well.

8. Rotor/Nicole - As much as I don't like the idea of Rotor being paired with anyone outside his own kind since his species is very different from the rest, I suppose this one could work since they are both very intelligent Mobians.

Sonic and Sally, I agree that Sega needs to come to their senses and make them an offical permament couple.

Antione and Bunnie, I thought they were an odd pairing at first, but now I like them.

Tails and Mina, I have come to like them since M30YL.

I think we all agree on the Sonic/Sally Pair.

Bunnie and Antione just seems to work-out, so I wouldn't change it. (Interesting note, in ArchieSonic, the pairing was to parody the Rogue and Gambit romance from X-Men).

Never Liked Julie-Su or Lara-Su, so I gotta go gamewise and pair Knuckles with Rouge.

I think the only reason people put Tails and Cream together is because of their similar ages (Tails 10-11ish, Cream 5-7ish). I think Tails and Mina or Tails and Amy would workout better, but that's just me.

At last!!!! Someone else thinks Tails and Amy would work! I can see the X-Men reference with Frenchman and Southern belle, though Gambit was cool... And Antoine, well, hes Antoine lol

I'm one of those people who never managed to adapt to the Antoine/Bunnie pairing, and (my apologies) never liked Juli-Su (just one of those personality things...) though I do like Lara-Su.

Something in me loves Laser's idea of putting Shadow and Sonia together; the rivalry between Sonic and Shadow could make for some really lovely plot madness.

I can see Tails/Amy, certainly better than I can see Amy with just about anyone else except my pet Antoine/Amy ship (what else are fanfics for? ).

I'm actually locked in a big debate on the SMS boards on the Sally/Sonic ship (HERE, if anyone cares), so we apparently do have people on SatAM boards who don't like Sally, which still surprises me. Anyone out there have some good arguments as to Sally's supreme superiority to any other girl Sonic's been paired with?

What, no Sonadow shippers? Come, come...

I think it depends on the continuity regarding SonSally. In SatAM its gotta happen eventually, In Archie it is fortold in a possible future. In the games I dont think its an issue, though in Sonic The Comic (You know, the Fleetway one) I think SonAmy could actually work.

That pairing should never even been thought up. It gives me the creeps just thinking about it.

Sonia with Shadow, on the other hand, would make some really hysterical moments.

Count me in on the ole Son/Sally ship... I like how they're both different and their differences balance each other out, make them into a whole being. I like their banter on the show, even though I do think Sally insults Sonic's intelligence a little too much. Though, it's not like he doesn't deliberately annoy her quite a bit.

And because of my affinity for Snively...just wacky personal fave Sniv pairings of mine... (feel free to not read this madness )

Snively/Sally: Heheheh. OH YEAH. Not very feasible, yes. This is the most dark of my Sniv pairings. He feels both hate and love(or maybe just lust) for her. He admires her for her intelligence, confidence and leadership skills. He'd bask in her contempt of him, find it almost appealing to be ridiculed by her. In his fantasy...he'd be the one making her feel like nothing...maybe really feeling love for her but not able to express it in any other way but abusive.

Snively/Bunnie: The most 'soft' Snivvy pairing. She brings out the goodness in him and makes him feel all sickeningly lovey-dovey. Sniv in turn satisfies Bunnie's desire to be nurturing and stuff, but at the same time he's strong enough to be independent and give her space when she needs it (ie: not clingy like Antoine. Though... I do actually like the Antoine/Bunnie pairing)

Sniv/Antoine: I think this would be the best yaoi couple of SatAM. They're both outcasts, ridiculed by their peers, striving to always prove their worth and not give into their fear. Plus I just think they're really hot together O>O

I also like Uncle Chuck and Rosie together. <3 They both need more love!

and in Archie, I really really want to see Sniv X Lien-Da. Her leather and whips....oooooh such potential there.... *drool* LOL

I agree with this I also like the idea of a Snively and Lien-Da pairing.

Heh, for some reason in 'Blast to the Past', when Rosie brings the young children with her to Chuck's... I just saw them as the friendly couple who just on the verge of taking the next step into a deeper relationship. You could even do the cliched thing where she keeps calling him formally 'Sir Charles', he insists on her just calling him 'Chuck', she agrees and then the next thing you know they're making out...
I don't know if I've ever seen a fanfic like that, but it's a fanfic that needs to be written ><

In re: Uncle Chuck/Rosie fanfic: YES, someone does need to. And it needs to be by someone who can write, blast it. I'm sort of writing a massive Knothole fanfic but it's all piecemeal right now and i unfortunately don't have time to dedicate to polishing it. But Uncle Chuck x Rosie definitely get some page time.

Um... heh, heh... everyone.

See all those couples in my first post on this thread? Those are all in there. They all live in Knothole, following the events of SatAM, though Robotnik makes a comeback. Some of Sonic Underground is also presumed to be true (though Queen Elena turns out to be some villain's lackey who merely pretended the triplets were her kids and kidnapped and abandoned two of them), so that Sonia and Manic's presence is somewhat explained.

There's way too many sub-plots and other adventures - for example, the Archie Universe is a separate entity that they get trapped in briefly, and Sonic X and the X Crew (Tails X, Cream X, and... Chris) are major villains. Knuckles has obsessive intelligence on All Things Chaos and/or Prophetic. As a fanfic, most of the bare-bone plots sound really loopy because a great deal went into getting the characters to that point. If i ever get it in publishable condition, I'll put it in the fanfic section. Thanks for asking.

Well, if we're speaking strictly SatAM-pairings, then there wouldn't be any human women for the Sniv... heh. I did like Archie's Iron Queen/Sniv thing, though. And I do have a human fanchar I stick him with sometimes, but I didn't want to get into the corny fanchar thing here cause it annoys some people

True. Satam showed no human women. Why, who knows? I think the show should have showed a couple. Maybe even one Snively would have a crush on.

But anyway, since the original poster had pairings that weren't strictly of the Satam universe, I'm just curious who you would pair him with.

Personally, a part of me would like to see how Snively would react if he met Topaz from Sonic X, or Katella from AOSTH.
