When was that? Depending on when it was, it might have been a DNS issue. Those should be gone now.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

Simple question today guys. Just how did you come across FUS?

I myself have been a member since 2001 or 2002.. Something like that. I actually found FUS one day while looking for the episodes to download. I'll admit it, I wanted to download the episodes.
Anyways, at the time Sonique (Nique) owned the place. Somewhere in the FAQ section it had a link to a Russian website run by Shredder. The (long lost) guy who invented the original FUS logo. His site had some old Real Player files of the SatAM show. Regardless I eventually joined FUS and somehow took over the site

So I would like to know how all you new (and old) members found this place. I really don't want to hear Morgan's story though. So go away Morgan.

For this I'll quote directly from my intro thread (which is also found on my profile page):

I've been following the sea3on comic for a little while and finally decided to come check out the forum. I've been a sonic fan ever since I can remember...waking up saturday mornings to watch all of my favorites, among which was Sonic the Hedgehog. Well...the years have gone by and I have grown and been on my own little adventures. Not too long ago I started looking up my old favorites. I've always been an animation fan (some things you can never grow out of) and will always appreciate a good cartoon. Being now in my mid-twenties, I could see the childishness of many of those old cartoons, yet they can still make me laugh. Sonic SatAM, however, was much different. Yes, it does have it's "childish" moments, and why not, it was for children. Yet beneath it all was something deeper, something stronger. And that's where the little sleeping sonic in me awoke again after a long nap. Of course, as we all know, the series was cancelled (blasted power rangers!) and me as well as many other fans were left unfulfilled. Of course there is the wonderful thing we call fanfiction, talented fans who come up with there own ending. Those can be entertaining, but to me it's just a story of what COULD have happened and not what WHOULD have. I soon began to study the background of the story and grew a deep appreciation for Ben Hurst who, after all these years, still feels strongly about the series. It was ironic that he died just after my little awakening. But I learned of his association with FUS and of the web comic based upon Ben's thoughts and ideas for season three. That's what led me here. This is not just some fanfic or fan comic. This is a serious project designed to finish the story as it should've ended. That's why I'm here today, to finally finish what was started in my childhood.

As for myself...I am a 24 (25 now) year old musician/college student living in Illinois. I did a year of school in Missouri before taking a leave of absence to serve in a church mission for 2 years. Upon my return I began co-writting songs with my Mother and we have been on tour with them and are preparing to record. I've taken classes online and am preparing to return to school full-time to complete my degree in music composition.

So that's who I am. I haven't been active in a forum for 5 years but I'll stick around here for a while and see what happens. It's good to see a community of fans keeping this story alive. Of all the great shows from my childhood, and there were some great ones, I believe SatAM will stay alive longer than any of them.

Way to go Sonic!

I REALLY can't remember how I first found this place. One thing I remember was me looking through the forums a lot as a guest way back when I was like 10 years old. I think I remember downloading episodes too, but not sure if it was here. tongue.gif Then a few years later I came back and noticed the whole style had changed. The new leadership, forum members and sections caught my attention and joined under the then username 'Mr Knockout'. I think thats how I got into FUS, I have a bad memory though, thats the best I could recall.

Well tough shit. You're going to get my story anyway. Years ago, I started off in the Sonic fandom from the games. Somehow I came across SatAM (don't remember how), and somehow in 2002 I stumbled across this place. I've got a very interesting history throughout my years at FUS, but I'm too lazy to share that. So now here I am, an admin to the place that's been a part of me since my childhood.

Well I've been a SatAM fan for quite a long time. I used to post on an old Sonic newsgroup, and to due to some favorable comments on fanfics I posted, I posted them around at Sonic HQ and TSR (I think that's what it was called... lol...it was a long time ago). I'd hop around and cruise various Sonic sites and such but never joined any forums. Eventually, I think I came across one of Sonique's fanfics and commented on it, and then we started emailing each other... or something like that anyway.
So eventually she invited me to join FUS's forum (dunno when that was...?), and I did but lurked for quite a bit. Got the nerve to post eventually and have been here ever since. Well, maybe not here, considering the board has changed hosts a few times since then wink.gif I've retained the same screen name, however.

I probabily found FUS out of complete luck. By watching the Nostalga Critic review on SatAM, watching one of the two best shows ever (80's Alvin and the Chipmunks ftw), and then wondering about if theres a fan group or something, and stumbling across this awesome place.

I've been lurking in the early days of FUS, like 2001 or 2002. I probably came across it because of Sea3on. I remember I read up on some of the Kuta-drama that occurred later.

I first connected to the internet in late 2000 and started what can only be described as a total geek out on everything Sonic (and porn). I spent since 1993 collecting the comics, playing the games, watching the cartoons, and felt like the only wanker in the world that did it. Boy was I ever wrong. I dived head first into fanfiction, and lapped every single story up as quickly as I could. I was in total heaven here. It was through the fanfictions that I discovered MistressAli's fine fanworks (all hail Casssar) and became a total fan-addict for everything she wrote (I even wrote her gushing emails about how awesome she was - and only six months later she would reply to them). Through Ali I found FUS in 2001, around the same time there was some split up from The SatAM Network. I signed up and joined the original Sea3on crew as an artist.

I swore a lot, started friendships that are still alive today, and insulted Chief at every chance I had. Fast forward 9 years and now I am co-owner of this bloody place with that same Canadian bastard - and insult him at every chance I get.

I honestly can't remember when I first discovered this place, but it was probably around 2003 or 2004 during the course of my first real efforts on the internet to find any websites specific to SatAM. At the time, I was more interested in using the site as a way to keep abreast of the potential DVD release of the series rather than using the forum, only ever perusing the place on occasion. It was only after I finally got my hands on the DVD Boxset in 2007 that I decided it was high time I join the community, seeing as how I now had the perfect legal resource for reference to the show beyond simply my own childhood memories. Some two and a half years later, and here I am, a respected member of the community and "Sea3on" writer.

I heard an official box set for SatAM Sonic was coming to DVD, so I did some FUS lurking for a while until the official release date. Sometime after that (my profile says October of 2007) I joined the forum.

I found FUS after I had finished watching SatAM for the first time. I wanted to know why the show was canceled, so I typed in Sonic SatAM season 3, and Fans United For SatAM was the first result that came up and the link lead me to an article about season 3 and then I found the comic. So thats how I found the site in a nutshell.

I found it by luck, honestly.
Thanks to Nostalgia Critic SatAM's review (I had already watched SatAM on TV and it re-aired about a year ago) I saw that in his review, there were bits of the series (and of course the ending) which I had never seen. Then I made some research and I found out than here in Spain, season 2 hadn't been dubbed or aired (which really pissed me off because I idolize season 1's dubbing), so I decided to sub it myself (which I'm still doing).
It was by searching some terms I didn't remember about that I came across some article which explained the reason of SatAM's cancellation, and it included the first pages of the new Sea3on. I immedatly looked for them and I found the site in about September 2010.

By the way, how is Sea3on pronounced? I started calling it "Threeson" in my mind, but I don't know if it's right...

I guess the Nostalgia Critic really helped bring a lot of people here. I actually found about the Nostalgia Critic from here. I think someone opened up a topic and linked to his AoStH/SatAM review.

Not sure how I first stumbled on the site... But years later, I was looking around Wikipedia for something and found the article on SatAM about the boxed set being in the works, with a link. So, I followed the link and decided to join.

There was a "Satam" topic on Bumbleking, and someone mentioned FUS, so I Googled it and found it. At the time I had never seen a episode of "Satam", so I decided to watch the show on "Youtube". I got hooked on the show and bought the boxset, and finally I decided to join the forum.

I'm not totally sure but it was probably when Sonic HQ did an interview with Nique.. I didn't join the forums til 03, I think. My memory's kinda fuzzy there. I first started looking at Sonic sites in general since like 96.

Like John, I was also in a total geek out with Sonic in 93. I read Sonic the Comic (The Fleetway one) From issue 1 to its end, Watched Adventures of... and SatAM and took to the Robotnik already rules Mobius story of STC and SatAM. By the mid 2000s The comic was over and SatAM was long finished and i had no internet at home.
Fast forward to last summer... I got my internet connection sorted out and decided to look up the online continuation of STC and read talk of another comic based of SatAM and was intrigued. I found it eventually and read Sea3on from the start until i caught up with the current page. About December time I had a read of the forums and joined in with a few comments here and there. Liked the fact that I was'nt the only fan of the show who still thought of it.

I think I answered this somewhere else as part of a different question, but I can't think of it...

I was just looking up Sonic in general, switched to looking up SatAM and got linked here. Visited the site for about a week and then joined.
