Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

I must admit that it would have taken me an hour or more to come up with that. There are many good reasons why I'm not working on Sea3on, and this is but one.

This is an alien parasite. Somehow it manages symbiosis while still being parasitic.

Again, it depends on how one defines "parasite". Technically speaking, symbiotes and shape-shifters capable of assimilating other species and imitating them aren't parasites. But the term often tends to be used to apply to them by those who either don't know better, or just don't care about the distinction.

Another scenario could be similar to Resident Evil 4. Sally, being stronger-willed than the parasite learns to control it and infects the others and they storm Robotropolis with all sorts of nifty mutations. A swatbot shoot off Sonic's head, revealing a new head with a scythe-bladed tentacle, which proceeds to slice the swatbot to scrap. The Wolf Pack gains the ability to side-step laser blasts, produce multiple flail-like tentacles, and now sport mouths full of 3-inch fangs capable of biting through steel. Bunny's non-roboticized arm transforms into a wicked blade/wing capable of slicing through perty much anything, and deflecting laser blasts. Robotnik and Snively are overrun and eaten.

Projection: If Intruder Organsim reaches civilized areas...

Entire world population infected 2,7000 hours from first contact.
