@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

So, Vlad, what are your sources for this information? I'm still not inclined to trust the opinion of somebody who thinks "global warming means warmer winters".

Honestly, I don't care if you trust my opinions or not. And quite frankly, I've tired of the global warming discussion. It's not like I started this topic to stir up discussion on such things... I started it to vent my frustrations against winter and cold weather...

Speaking of which... I have another to add to the list: My truck is now stuck in the snow about 20 yards out into the driveway, away from the house... And I still need to get into town...

I blame the environmentalists. We need to shoot 'em and toss 'em on a big ol' pile of burning tires and old fridges and aerosol cans... Stupid "stop global warming" movement...

Actually, you were the first to mention global warming and it spouted form there.

It was -4 F (-20 C) this morning and we've had above average snowfall this winter and we still have a little over a month to go.

I am sick of snow and cold and having to shovel repeatedly so I can get up my driveway before the snow is compacted into ice. It's on a incline. In 2009, we had a horrible ice storm and I couldn't even get up it in my car.

I know exactly how you feel Kao. This morning it was -1F (-18C) here and I'm flat fucking sick of the snow and ice keeping me from work and screwing around with other things. I hate winter after this.

Ha ha ha... No. It's too far to walk into town. Fortunately, it's warmed back up and I managed to get the truck unstuck. Now, she's setting on a patch of solid ground, instead of a snowbank.

Great times were had today with snow-blowing our hugeass driveway with its hugeass dumping of the 4 or 5 inches of snow we got today >< More fun times as my mom comes home from work amidst my plowing and gets stuck in the end of the driveway with the rear of the car hanging out into the road. More fun times as it takes nearly a half hour of laborious digging, plowing and swearing (always important) to get the car free (floor mats under the tires did the trick, finally) More fun times as I tried to plow the heavy snow before mom circles around to have another go at the driveway, and I run over the stupid floormat and get it jammed in the snow-blower's blades. HAHAHA. FUCK YOU WINTER. Also, her car (as she had taken mine to work) is stuck near the garage and will not move because her tires suck total ass. We have a house showing tomorrow (house is for sale) and I have to work, and this sucks when there is only one car available. DUE TO YOU, SNOW. DUE TO YOU, YOU WHITE BASTARD.

I rather like winter in all honesty. Even the bit that my fingers are so numb its hard to type. Winter is just a good season.

You only enjoy winter because you get to abuse the golf cart in the ice and snow.

I don't think I'll ever be able to understand how anyone could enjoy the cold... I'd much rather have it get upwards of 100F than below 70F. I find the heat to be comfortable and energizing... The cold, on the other hand, feels like its sucking the life out of me, and it causes my skin to hurt...

No way! I'm from the midwest...tack on about 95% humidity with that 100 degree weather and you're looking at one very miserable day!!! Under 70 nice...I'd say about 65-75 is perfect weather. I'm with you chief...a little chill can be refreshing. However, I am SOOO ready for this winter weather to be over and for spring to come.

I'm actually a fan of the rains. Just a nice cloudy day with a steady pour of rain. Ahhh, so nice. Everything grows.

Try 99 or 100% humidity in 115 degree weather, burning off wheat fields, or working on a broken-down combine, or in a tractor with no AC. That's a bit outside even my comfort zone. But, honestly, I'd rather sweat than shiver. I can always dump some of my drinking water on my head if need be, in the summer. In winter, I often can't stay outside for very long. There are fools who say that you can combat the cold with extra layers of clothing, but that's never worked for me. It would take something like 10 layers of clothes, and by then I'd be broke and unable to move, and probly would still be cold. 75-90 is perfect weather.

I'm actually a fan of the rains. Just a nice cloudy day with a steady pour of rain. Ahhh, so nice. Everything grows.

Depends on the time of year and just what type of rain it is. A nice summer's rain is great. A torrential downpour is generally bad (though it can be good on one of those 115 degree days). A storm with tornado watch/warnings is even worse. Freezing rain is even worse than that. It also depends on how much rain. Though I did get a dog out of the last flood, a couple years ago, that was WAY too much rain. It was literally more rain than the biblical flood.
