Will Sonic Do Well With The Kinect?

Now I haven't played this game, I'm just reading stuff on it and watching some video's, but in my opinion its cheap. This might be their test at new technology and what not but I still figure they could have tossed out something better then a damn race game. Make a Sonic fight game, punch and kick Robotnic.. Something you know, Sonic related. I'm not sure how many times Sonic decided to race around the city on a hover board in the past but I don't think it was that often.
However as much as I dislike how this game is I will say that the Kinect is pretty damn awesome. If SEGA is just using this title to test out the waters I hope their next title (hopefully another Sonic one) is a lot better.
Anyways this is in the news topic because I would like to ask you all something. Do you own a kinect? If so, would you play a more interactive Sonic game on that? Or would you rather stick to the controller and button mashing?
Personally I'm not big on the whole interactive scene thats coming out. I'm a fan of sitting on my couch with a beer and playing a game with a controller. I'm lazy! But I guess there is some market in it seeing as they keep pushing all of this technology. Lets just hope some better games come out for it. Sonic Colors can only pull SEGA through so much.
Oh and go buy a Sonic Umbrella for $225 US while you are at it. Then you can race around on your hover board AND stay dry.

So to sum up such a long answer, It doesn't bother me that they did this. They needed someone to bring Sega to the Kinect and who better to do it than Sonic.

The central question of whether Sonic could work on Kinect is an interesting one, but as it stands I'd have to say "no". The main reason why is inherent to the hardware: no one has yet figured out how to compensate for the Kinect's lack of controller-based interface of any kind (as opposed to the Wii or Move, which combine motion controls with buttons, d-pads, and analog sticks) in terms of constructing a game with real depth to it. Even if we assume a "Sonic and the Secret Rings"-style set-up with Sonic constantly in motion, I can't imagine it'd be much fun to just move from side to side on your own, nor can I imagine how the camera could effectively track jumps or homing dashes.

But you gotta admit.. If a game came with a treadmill that would be pretty awesome. Especially if they only charged 50 bucks for the thing still.

Hey...years ago when I heard Japan had a game that you had to buy a special guitar to play I thought they were crazy...about 2 years later guitar hero was a phenomenon in North America.
