@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

It's the middle of Winter, Morgan. Try masturbating with your hose now and you'll end up frigid. And I ain't speaking medically.

Breeches and hose. That's what life is people, breeches and hose.

Yep. But they're not threatening anyone in particular there.

"All nonwhite people in the neighborhood" isn't a specific enough threat?

Yeah I'd say it became a threat when he added the noose. I'm just extremely tired, and I think it's better to heir on the side of caution when it comes to protecting the rights to freedom of speech/expression. "Those who would sacrifice liberty" after all.

There should be exceptions to that freedom of speech/expression excuse when people are caught out being dickheads.

Hehe yeah, pulling that "I have the freedom of speech!" excuse when someone's being an asshole is not cool.

Yeah, the only problem is then WHO gets to decide when to pull that exception/what constitutes being a dickhead. Would you rather have too much freedom or not enough?

Not at all a difficult sentiment to agree with. There's been many a time I've been disgusted with displays of racism and wished I could do something about it.
I've had to live alongside rednecks so long I barely notice things like confederate flags though. Most of them seem to fly it without knowing the first thing about the history behind it.
Or sometimes even that it's named the "confederate" instead of the "rebel" flag. They'll buy any crap that has one printed on it though, just like the stars and stripes.
Amusing how likely you are to see someone with a confederate flag tattoo yammering about patriotism.

Kind of reminds me of the words of a man who, no doubt, would have been a very successful politician had he actually existed.

"This anonymous clan of slack-jawed troglodytes has cost me the election, and yet if I were to have them killed I would be the one to go to jail. That's democracy for you."

They're just humans. They'll screw up everything. That's just their default nature. Nobody needs to teach someone to be an ass. Rather, pleasant habits are a bit harder to pick up on, and generally go unnoticed anyway. Notice the article isn't about a snowman in a top hat. That's not news. But a photo of a KKK snowman, THAT'S friggin' news, baby!

As for the "too much freedom" argument, there dose come a point where freedom can start to implode on itself if left unchecked. Suddenly m freedoms start hampering the freedoms of others and their rights are violated by my rights. I think that's generally where the line is drawn in U.S. law about our freedom. Once your actions stifle the right of someone else trying to exercise his freedom, then you broken some sort of law. (Obvious example include killing, theft, ect.)

Stuff like this is the gray area, since this man's actions can be considered as threatening, keeping other from their freedom to live in peace of mind. (Disturbing the peace, as it were.) But since the man isn't brandishing a gun and firing it off at black passer-bys, and it's on his own property, then the law really can't come into action here. And any evidence to it would just melt in a few months anyway.
I believe in what I want to believe in, you believe in what you want to believe in, so when someone wants to believe in something, no one will know what to believe!
Believe it or not...

Yes, your freedoms end where mine begin and vice versa. But don't you have the right to make people uncomfortable on your own property, or to make it look menacing? This is the gray area we must live in.

Good point. But you must admit that he has a very successful method for gaining new members: incest. Not only do they multiply as they inbreed, but they become increasingly less sentient and, therefore, less likely to question the morality or sanity of the WBC. In time, I'm sure they'll adopt NewSpeak.
