When was that? Depending on when it was, it might have been a DNS issue. Those should be gone now.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

Red said he couldnt get one

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

Lol saw it when someone redirected me to "ye page which shall not be named" (I guess?) to listen to an interview he'd had with Diaper Radio, which was pretty hilarious and of course self contradicting as hell. Though if he can be knocked out by being hit on the head with diapers it would explain a lot....

Diaper Radio?? Hell, just when I thought my hate for humanity had reached its boundaries... tongue.gif
(Personally I don't care about people's fetishes so long as they're not hurting anyone or animals. But still, diapers and stuff like that creep me the hell out))

From what I understand, it was the work of a devilish troll. He made up the fake show, contacted Rich and it was all Kuta's fault from there. Look, I could care less about what he does in his own spare time, whether it's directing the fan fic, sleeping in a crib or snuggling his with his Sally doll, I don't care, it's his life. But he can't blame anyone else for that info getting leaked. If he never wanted those pictures or past experiences to become public knowledge, than he should have kept it off the internet. It's common logic.

Is it REALLY that hard to make a Classic animated movie?

For what I know 1 frame is equal to 20 drawings and if you want a clip that is 20 minutes long that's like 24000 drawings( + background artwork for each scene ). So if you work alone and make 1 drawing per hour and work 2 hours a day you will do 2 drawings per day. And that in a year is 730 drawings on a year. Okay if you start today you are done in 33 years.

But lets say you are 10 people that means you are done in 3.3 years. But of course if you are very skilled you make more than 2 pictures a day. So lets say you do 6. Then we're down to about a year.

My advice to all classic animators out there, go together

No pretty sure it's legit. The guy is way too restrained and half-interested/doesn't dig for embarrassing details to be a troll I think. That or he's a master. The actual name of the show was "Potty Time Radio", of course the youtube vid got flagged but I've got the audio saved for the lulz if anyone wants it.

Ah so it's code is it! CV, I'd love a good Castlevania fanfilm as well.

It's not that simple. When you have multiple characters in a scene, that's more drawings. Backgrounds take time to do as well. The drawings will need to be consistent with one another, which is difficult to achieve with multiple artists. The in-betweens will have to line up with the keyframes, as well as each other. Lip-synch has to be timed out with a chart, then you still have to actually do it. And if the director doesn't like the drawings, guess what? You've gotta do them again.

Also, you'll tend to run into people who eventually say, "You know, I could be getting paid for this" and quit.

Looney Tunes shorts were only about six and a half minutes long, and they took a very large team a very long time to complete. Granted, you can animate stuff a lot faster now than you could and those days, but it's still only so much faster.

I really hope one of them gets made, it would be nice to see both get made. Despite any reservations I have of Kuta, I will give the man one piece of credit: his drive to do this movie. Even though his moral standing are in serious doubt.

Anyway heres to hoping something gets done.

No, I think it was... I remember seeing the video on youtube, and the poster said it himself... Or I'm confused... or I'm lying... Dear god, maybe I'm trolling everyone and myself tongue.gif It was a while back, so maybe I'm mixing some things up.
Whatever the case... stupid move.

I'm actually a junior animator. I'm in art school, and one of the things I got to do was 2D animation. The process... is a little bumpy.

First, animation the character(s). Everything is roughed out, and depending on the artist or if the planets are aligned or whatever, they can get quite a bit of work done. Here's some of my stuff as an example:
http://www.youtube.c...u/1/1Ydjfl_Asn0

Everything in their is roughed out. Kind of like roughing out a drawing, here you can tell what works or what needs improving. My recent one, I put together in less then a day, less than 8 hours I think, but I was under a huge time crunch and had to get it done.

Once that's done, it's clean up time. I know two methods for this. First is just doing it by hand and redrawing each and every frame in order to make everything look cleaner, all the while fixing any mistakes that pop up. This can take a little while, seeing as you need to be precise. I helped with clean up on a short film last year, and there was... I think about 10 or so artists working in cleanup, and another group of artists were adding color to whatever pages were finished in photoshop.

The other is Flash. Oh, I can hear the boo's and hiss's... Actually, the program is pretty sweet, and makes cleaning up a pretty easy task. You just redraw the frames in separate layers. I just started using the program... it's got some issues you need to get used to, but it's still pretty sweet. I might consider buying my own copy down the road.

I have alot of respect for animators and the work they do. It takes alot of talent, patience, and dedication to create what they do.

I think it's exciting to have two different approaches to a Sonic fan film! SatAM fans, game fans, hardcore fans, and casual fans will have two films that will cater to them so it's win-win. Those that want something classical yet fresh and action packed will go with my film. Those that want a 2D animated return of the great SatAM story with a new and exciting approach will Rich's film.

I can't see it as a competition since it's two different films that will each find it's audience. Neither film is going to attract the fan base as a whole and that's a fact (well, that's a fact with all films I guess!). Rich is doing his thing and I shall do mine!

So what you are saying is you won't be having a Eddie Vs. Rich Fight To The Death? Cause I think most of us here were hoping you would jump into the ring and beat each other senseless. Then whoever wins we go with their movie. But fine.. Be a wussy.
