@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

MEGA MAN EXPLODES INTO ARCHIE COMICS
New York, NY (October 8, 2010): Archie Comics—home to Sonic the Hedgehog comics—is about to become the base of operations for a comic series featuring Capcom’s heroic video game legend, Mega Man!

The Mega Man® franchise is hotter than ever and in the spring of 2011, Archie Comics will take his heroic adventures to new heights with a brand new monthly comic!

With the aid of his mighty Mega Buster blaster arm and a killer creative team including renowned artist Patrick “Spaz” Spaziante and infamous Archie action/adventure writer Ian Flynn, Mega Man is equipped to blast his way back into the comic book world in his own monthly action. Arriving Spring 2011, the new Mega Man™ comic from Archie Comics promises to build a faithful legacy while exploring a vast universe of heroes, villains, and robots.

“Since 1987, the enormously successful Mega Man franchise has conquered media from video games to television to manga. Archie Comics is ready to carry on this tradition of success, holding true to the spirit of the old school with a fresh eye on Mega Man’s strong potential in the world of American comics,” promised Archie Comics editor of Sonic and now the Mega Man franchise, Paul Kaminski.

The Mega Man comic book series will follow the original Rock/Mega Man in his battles against the maniacal Dr. Wily. Mega Man’s jam-packed, fast-paced adventures are told from the perspective of Rock (a.k.a. Mega Man) the young boy with a peaceful heart now thrust into a life of conflict.

“Readers can expect non-stop action, as well as an exploration of the themes of family, choice and loyalty that make the Mega Man franchise a property that connects on a very personal level,” continued Kaminski. “From there, we hope to fully explore not only that classic world, but the other spin-offs including Mega Man X, Mega Man Zero, Mega Man Legends and more!”

“We’re thrilled to be creating a definitive version of Capcom’s Mega Man to American audiences,” remarked Archie Comics Co-CEO Jon Goldwater. “And to do it with our top-notch creative team who all love and understand the property inside and out is going to be spectacular!”

In honor of the announcement at NYCC, Archie Comics and Capcom® will each be hosting signings of an exclusive print with the Mega Man creative team Patrick “Spaz” Spaziante and Ian Flynn.

Great, Flynn is going to ruin another game franchise. This won't last long since it dosen't have the establihed SATAM base that Sonic has.

Also, why isn't Udon doing this?

Nice to see you're so optimistic about a new Mega Man comic. I admit this caught me by surprise. After Dreamwave's effort flopped, I didn't expect Archie to pick up the slack. With Pat Spaz doing the art, it's sure to be a visual treat.

I'm just sick and tired of Archie and Ian having any power over Sonic and anyother franchise for that matter.

I honestly want Ian's and/or Archie's hand gone from the Sonicverse and to see them with another verse kills me more inside.

The only one cut out to write the Megaman comic is Keiji Inafune, the original creator himself.

I can see this fiasco now.

Megaman X is changed from a mature, heroic warrior to a wimpy whiny weakling.

And Sigma becomes as useless of a villain as Dr. Robotnik of AOSTH!

Strange thing is...according to some, that's already happened.

I just wonder what they ARE going to do with this and I am praying to every deity in the known multiverse that they are NOT going to make this be like the American made cartoon series.

Actually, speaking of the Dreamwave comic...who's idea was it to make Protoman's name be JACK?!? Rocky for Megaman made a little more sense since his name was Rock. But Jack instead of Blues?

You know.. I'm kinda sick of this "Flynn ruins everything!" junk. Just give the bloody comic a try. If you don't like it.. Who cares? Stop reading it.

I never understood that.. People just start bitching so much about something as simple as a comic. How easy is it to just go "eh not for me anymore" and just stop reading it.

Besides, I'll throw this one out there too cause I'm sure most of you don't think of it before you go jumping on the writers back. The people at the top decide where the comic should go, what age demographic they target, yadda yadda yadda. The writers job is to turn what they want into a script. Flynn isn't the one deciding weather to "kiddie" it up or not. When they tell you that the target audiance is between like 6 and 12 you can't go tossing in all sorts of death and blood and cool stuff.

I'm no Flynn fan boy, I don't read the Sonic comic or anything else done by him. I'm just sick of people constantly jumping on his back for everything before they even stop to think how the industry works.

Also if you are thinking that Archie can't turn anything into a adult comic.. You haven't read the new series "Life With Archie". Compared to every other thing they put out it is rather twisted.

I'm with you on that chief. I lost interest in the direction of the comic probably around the time it hit #100, so that was around the last time I really honestly read it. And the last one I even bought was #184.

I agree as well, the comic lost me around the time Sonic went into space, I haven't kept track of the story after that. I'd like more stories that go back to their Satam roots, but it's clear that the comic is appealing to a different audience, so I've moved on to other stuff. I don't expect the series to keep up to my standards forever. There's other stuff to read and watch out there.

As a long-time Mega-fan, I'm intrigued to see what Flynn's going to do with the story and characters. I've never seen him work on something not-Sonic-related, and the Mega Man franchise has never ventured into the multimedia world much in the past outside of the dreadful Ruby Spears cartoon and the short-lived Dreamwave series. This has the potential to be pretty awesome, honestly.

There's nothing about Megaman to screw up. As in, they're starting a comic from scratch. Megaman fans have nothing to worry about.

I dunno. While it looks ok, I just don't trust Flynn's writing style any longer.

I think before anyone really judges this comic, they'll have to read an issue or two. We don't really know anything yet, let's just wait and see, and complain about Flynn later.

Who the heck did you think he was, and what reason did you have to believe you knew him? This is just getting silly, guys; you don't like the job he's doing on the comics, fine, I can respect that, but stop acting like he murdered your babies or something.

TMNT began life as an adult comic, so the Archie comic being mature wasn't a huge leap. tongue.gif

I don't even know who the hell Flynn is other than he's the new writer for Sonic and everyone hates him. laugh.gif I'm not even sure which issue he started writing on, but matters not to me since I lost my interest in the comic a few years ago. Hmm...well, no, I guess #100 is more than a few years ago now huh?

Ok, point taken.

It's just sad to see something really well written by Ben Hurst in the old days now turned into a complete joke by Archie Comics.

But yea, I get what you're saying. You're right. It's just a stupid comic and not worth getting all fired up over.

To be honest, I've just about lost all interest in it anyway.

Sega and Archie are determined to run this series into the ground, and there's nothing we can do to stop them anyway, other than quit buying their pathetic excuse of a product.
