When was that? Depending on when it was, it might have been a DNS issue. Those should be gone now.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

Red said he couldnt get one

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

Takashi Iizuka, head of Sonic Team recently made a VERY bold statement about the upcoming game Sonic Colors that the Sonic Stadium managed to pick up.

QUOTE
"This is a similar title to Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, but the similarity comes from the concept – keeping the tempo very fluid,” said Iizuka. “A similar concept applies here. Is it the best since then? We always strive to make the best Sonic game yet. It’s at least on a par with Sonic Adventure Battle 2, and I’m confident it is one of the best Sonic games ever.”

Those last 8 words I have trouble believing. Especially his previous statement. What 3D sonic game could beat Adventure 2 Battle? Apparently this one in his view. Although I have to say, recent previews from critics have given the game high praise and gameplay footage definitely makes the game look promising. If you're curious you can check out a small trailer recently posted by SEGA Europe.

What do you guys think?

UPDATE!

Nintendo Power just reviewed both Wii and DS versions. They gave the console variant a stunning 9.0 and the DS counterpart a 7.5. One quote from their review was "Definitely the best 3D Sonic game made.". Looks like Iizuka wasn't kidding, Sonic Colors is pretty freakin' sweet.

Beat Sonic Adventure 2?

I'd sooner believe the Satam genre was getting its own game before I'd believe that.

Until Sega changes its horrible ideas and writers, no game will ever top Sonic Adventure 2.

I agree with you too. Sonic Colors is looking neat, but Adventure 2 will always be my favorite. And for some reason, its the only Sonic game I've kept in mint condition since I first bought it. Maybe cause its the only one worth keeping! xD.png

I really, really enjoyed it and you didn't have to do puzzle quests like in Adventures 1 either.

Usually spent my time playing the hedgehog levels, instead of full play though. The last few levels were kinda hard.

Crazy gadget was insane imo. Its way too long, and way too hard. It was the only place I had trouble getting an A because I always got that magnetic shield and when I got to the part with those rings you have to light dash at I always fell! >:( But in the end, I reigned victorious!! smile.gif

I actually thought Adventure 2 was a pretty good game. The plot was interesting, Shadow wasn't a sale out, the cgi cutscenes were pretty sweet, and the level designs were nice. Though I have my share of gripes, such as some iffy line reading in the cutscenes, the boss battles leave much to be desired (You fight three versions of the Big foot thing, the Stone guy twice, and the final bosses... and the team light versus team dark stages could have been better), more stages would have been nice...

It wasn't ground breaking or anything, god no. But it was fun.

Here's hoping Colors out does it.

"Adventure 2" was pretty solid, but I don't know that I'd consider it great. The Treasure Hunting levels were boring as shit, the Mech-walker levels were pretty hit-or-miss, and as fun as the Hedgehog levels could be, they still suffered from some pretty bad stage design and wonky camera at times. I remain quite enthused for "Colors", though, which I do think looks like it could be the best 3D game in the franchise and finally solidify a solid new direction for the seris to take.

Mmm. Sonic Adventure 2 might have been the last Sonic game I actually enjoyed. I did like Sonic 06 for a while but these days not so much. unsure.gif And SatSR is the last one I even played.

I have vowed to never try a new sonic game again ever since black knight, (except maybe sonic 4) And believe me, colors will NEVER top Adventure 2 in my opinion, it remains my favorite sonic game. It had everything, cool level design, very good controlls, tons of levels, an awesome soundtrack, and a story that wasn't over the top goofy. And Robotnik was actually evil! No stupid plans to biuld an amuesment park.

Sonic colors may look neat, but if you ask me, Adventure 2 was the last very good 3D sonic game. it all went down hill soon after *looks at heroes and 06*

Has anyone played Sonic Adventure ONE? Superior to SA2 imo, but I've just noticed quite a few fans never played the first one. Well SA1 is the best Sonic game IMO.

Colors, I have a lot of faith in. So much to the point I may buy a Wii for it alone. I think it'll be the first really good game since SA2 but we'll see.

I think I've played just about every Sonic game known to man with exception to a few here and there, and like I said, SatSR was the last one I played. I did like SA1, but when SA2 came out, I liked it a lot more. Just felt like it had more in the story than the older Sonic games did.

I personally enjoyed SA2 better, for the gameplay of stages mostly. BUT - In SA1, I liked better how you could focus on one character's plot at a time and switch to whoever you felt like playing as atm, not stuck with Sonic/Tails/Knuckles and unable to go any further until you completed that level. Also, I liked how in SA 1 it had the overworld type of stage where you could just wander around station square (no fear of being killed really, just able to goof around, get used to the control of your character really) and some of the random tasks around like that I found interesting really. Also the hidden Chao eggs like the Gold one hidden in this was cool, along with the emblems hidden. But you know what made it aggravating? Big's stages... sleep.gif; Otherwise I think for sure SA1 would be my favorite. I really wish they'd do another with this feature, Sonic Heroes sorta had a choice with the teams, but not quite. And still I think Sonic Unleashed would had been better with overworld stages like SA1 instead of the way they had you explore the towns.

As for Colors, HIGHLY doubt it can be the best Sonic Game ever... Honestly. Amusement Park ruined that from the start.

Hehe I have never been fond of Big's stages. I'm not a big fishing fan in real life, and even for a game, I still suck at it. But regardless, high speed stages interests me. Fishing doesn't.

I finished Sonic Adventures 1 - I even did all the friggin Big stages just to get to the final battle.

The sonic and tails levels were fun, the overworld crap needs to die in a fire, the walker was meh and Big and Knuckles were kinda superfloous.

All in all I liked Adventures 2 better.

The last Sonic game I really enjoyed was Adventure. There are so many things it got right, despite being rough around the edges. SA2 on the other hand was a letdown in most respects, but at the end of the day it's (sadly) still the second best 3D Sonic game. As for everything else that followed, the least said the better.

I have to disagree. I was very impressed with SA2 and greatly disappointed with SA (of course I had Sonic Adventure 2 Battle And Sonic Adventure DX). SA2 had a better story (and didn't change it between characters) and Sonic doesn't appear to be screaming his head off every time he opens his mouth.
Unfortunately, Sonic Colors is one of Sega's attempts at combining the 3d games with the 2d games, and it just isn't going to work out in the end, like Sonic Advance, Rush, and Unleashed. I'm sure it will be good, but nowhere near as good as SA2.

I had both SA1 and 2 for the Dreamcast and SA1 Director's Cut and SA2 Battle for the Gamecube as well. And yeah, gotta say I wasn't a fan of Sonic's extremely huge mouth in SA1. unsure.gif On the upside the speeds were insanely fast. So much so I fell out of bounds plenty of times. wink.gif Still liked SA2 more though for many reasons. The stages were funner in my opinion. Though wasn't too crazy about the shooter or emerald hunter stages (die hard speed fan) in either game. Also liked the story and graphics more, as well as the music. Crush 40 is genius. Just felt like they did more with the story than in SA1. I did like SA1, but still like SA2 more.

And I was also happy Big didn't have any stages in SA2. Win. happy.gif
