@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

mine may be obvious depending on if you've been here a year. This is actually the only forum I'm a member of (because this form is actually awesome).

Used to be SoulTenor nearly 3 years ago. I used to play quints in a marching battery (or drumline for you folks that saw the terrible movie that gives me pain to this day in the same way CSI does to furries).

Changed it to BigWigRah after not having marched for a few years, since the identity was gone. I'm now a musician in a more "western classical" sense, with a much greater knowledge base in other instruments and histories. BigWig is one of the characters from the novel Watership Down, but he was never actually a chief rabbit, or "Rah." I always though he could have been a rah given how much he learned and grew throughout the story. Perhaps in an alternate universe he broke off and formed his own warren. I talk about WSD way too much to FUS's annoyance, but it just feels so relevant sometimes.

Not very original, but I'll bet not many people would get the reference.

I'm suprised, I thought were like 2 or 3 versions of this topic on the board already but looking around I only saw this one. Huh. Well I know I've explained it several times here so just -
Ratty = http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/27805
Randnums = Rand, which is ancient programmer shorthand for "Random" + nums, same for "numbers". Thought it would be better than Ratty234256

Yeah, It is kinda hard to talk to people with 30 digits at the end of their name.

Your way makes way more sense.

Ya know...those who know me might THINK my username is based off my fanfiction. The truth...is a little more complex than that.

Truthfully, the Gamemaster persona existed long before even the INTERNET did! In high school and college, I was often helping my friends and dormmates with video games...showing them all the hidden areas as well as how to defeat certain bosses. As such, they would refer to me as "Gamemaster", probably based on another famous Gamemaster we all know and love. *COUGH*CaptainN*COUGH*

Nowadays, the name is related to the fics I write...though I REALLY need to get back to writing. Heck, I should even start work on what Heroes of Arcadia ORIGINALLY was...an idea for a paper and pencil RPG like D&D where you can role play and video game!

I guess now that I've changed my name I should elaborate. A few months ago I was going through this sudden fascination of cataclysmic effects. I wanted to learn all about it, know all about it, and after some time I realized that there are different kinds of catalysts. One of those as an Inhibitor, a process that slows down and utterly stops catalysis. That certain name really stuck out to me, and received this sudden urge to replace it to all my social networks. I'm aware there are many different kinds of Inhibitors, not cataclysmic ones, but the one I studied is truly fascinating and worthy of marvel. Also, if you looks closely into my avatar you'll notice the words 'Reverse Cataclysm' barely visible within the spiral.

What was your name before? Also no worries there, at least one of our most liked and veteran members is a WoW enthusiast.

It's so confusing when people all of a sudden change their names >.<

Anyway...my name's nothing special. I needed a login name for a forum about 6 years ago and came up with it and it's stuck ever since. It's simple and not followed by a bunch of random numbers. I tend to follow something I ran across called the Tasselfoot theory of usernames which states that "There is an inverse correlation between the number of numbers in a person’s username and their general level of internet intelligence and maturity. There are also 2 corollaries: The X factor, which deals with number of X’s at the start and end of a person’s username, and the random letter corollary, which deals with a username made up of seemingly random letters."

Basically...the more random numbers there are at the end of a username(placing "randnums" at the end doesn't count), the less likely it's possible for said person to hold a worthwhile conversation. Now don't let me offend anyone on the site...this is merely a theory, not a law, and there have been many times when I have seen this theory broken, but for the most part I've noticed it stays true.

Okay, mine's kind of lame and boring, but here goes. I eat lunch with a fairly large group of friends, at my college. But three of us are sort of the "group heads". One day, our group decided that we needed nicknames, for some reason. Mike got "Candy Man" for his usual bags of candy and his Willy Wonka top hat (he's always wearing it), Anthony was given "Goodman" for always being the "voice of reason" (at least when compared to Candy Man and me), and I was called "The Red Menace" for being a Cuban and caffeine-addict (real PC, huh? xD.png ).
