He was more than just a writer. He was also a voice over, a pilot, a DJ, he had worked with people like Mel Blanc and Richard Simmons. I wish I could remember half the stories he told me. Maybe I'll try to remember some and post them later on.

Wow... Ben Hurst. It's a comfort to know he led a fulfilled life... of course he could've done more if given time, but he was happy with what he'd done, and that's more than many people can say. His writing on SatAM was a source of inspiration for me, leading me to many hours of writing and drawing based on the world he helped create. If it weren't for SatAM I wouldn't have found FUS and made the friends I have here and elsewhere on the internet. So thanks, Mr Hurst, and rest in peace...

Even though I already made a comment on the memorial topic, I fell the need to salute Mr. Hurst and thank him for all he has done. He wasn't just a great writer, he was a dedicated writer. I man who truly cared about the show and its fanbase. I am glad that he went peacfully instead of painfully. I am sad, but I am happy that he led a good life.
We shall miss you Mr. Hurst

Ah... man. That really sucks! I remember sending him an e-mail about an few years ago. And he was decent and very respected. I was hoping to meet with him in person someday. But, now since he's gone... I guess my dream won't come dream. Very sad.

This is some of the saddest news i've gotten in a while. I just was checking the board on a whim, and now I kinda want to cry a little. Ben, i'm saddened to have never met you. You were an inspiration to a generation of fans the world over, and I believe I safely speak for all FUSers when I say that we love you and will miss you a great deal. Nique, of everyone on FUS I give you my condolences. The father of SatAM and the matriarch of FUS, i'm saddened for your pain, and I wish you peace. Ben's the reason I got started writing fanfiction, and after watching the episodes he wrote again, my writing instantly improved. We as a fanbase will never be able to repay you for all the joy you've brought us over the years, but hopefully this forum's fruits will be a suitable place to start.

I only heard about his death yesterday morning & at first I thought it was a joke since he seemed fine the last time we heard from him.

I even didn't know he had diabetes.

RIP Ben Hurst. Thank you for giving us a cartoon that, to this day, still lives in our hearts.

Technically, that's not true. A post is copyrighted by the person who made it, unless he or she explicitly assigns the copyright to somebody else (perhaps by the forum stating, "By submitting this post, you agree to assign the copyright to blah blah blah"), which is of course very rare. Granted, nobody's gonna mind if you use our posts for something like that, so in practice, it isn't an issue.
