@  furrykef : (25 July 2015 - 03:35 AM)

When was that? Depending on when it was, it might have been a DNS issue. Those should be gone now.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

on*

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

Red said he couldnt get one

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

Yeah it sure seems that way quite a bit these past few years.

Rest in peace Ben Hurst, you were the best writer that Sonic ever had, no one can ever top what you gave us in the SatAM series.

More like the past decade... I sometimes feel like those of us stuck between generations X and Y should be called "the generation of lost heroes"...

At times like this, I wish I had the appropriate social skills to properly convey my sentiments... I guess I'll have to do with the (no doubt massively understated): "Ben will be greatly missed."

Projection: If Intruder Organsim reaches civilized areas...

Entire world population infected 2,7000 hours from first contact.

Such a tragic loss. Ben Hurst delivered one of the most memorable shows of my childhood. Rest in peace, Ben.

Ohhh.. sad.gif That's awful to hear that he's gone.
He really was a great writer, someone who really cared about the characters and the world he helped create. I'm really grateful for all he's done.

This news really does suck, and it's a shame I'll never get to chat with him on Facebook again.

Thank You, Benjamin Hurst...you were and still are an awesome guy.

This is horrible. I remember speaking to ben once and he was a nice person. I think he and alot of us were hoping he'd be the great push for a new age of the SatAM show. It's always sad when talented people die...at least he had the most comforting painless death one could ask....rest in peace.

He was more than just a writer. He was also a voice over, a pilot, a DJ, he had worked with people like Mel Blanc and Richard Simmons. I wish I could remember half the stories he told me. Maybe I'll try to remember some and post them later on.

I just wanted to tell you that the hardest thing I've faced

It was convincing myself I wasn't stupid, strange, or lame
And helping others do the same.

Nice to hear he'd put that voice to use. I remember when I heard his voice on the DVD, and I thought, "Why isn't this man a voice actor?"

That's very sad, especially someone as young as 50, that's way too young to go. From the way you described about him, Nique, he sounded like a cheerful and happy guy. I saw that in him when I saw his interviews on the DVD.

In the words of General George Patton, "It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died, rather we should thank God that such men lived." We should all be happy and thankful with what Ben gave us. For a happy personality like his, he'd probably want us to remember all the greatness he gave us. He has written us unforgettable Sonic episodes and moments that will forever live in us.

As long as we remember what he has done, what he gave us, and everything he has worked hard for to get another season of SatAM, if we all remember that then Ben Hurst is not dead. He is still with us, even as I type this, and even as you read this, he's still with us.

He's with Dana Hill right now. My condolences to the Hurst family, I know exactly what it's like to lose someone. Thank you, so much, Mr. Hurst. You have given us Sonic and Sally, Sonic Conversion, Game Guy, No Brainer, the Blast to the Past episodes, Dulcy, The Void, Ro-Becca, Cry of the Wolf, Drood Henge, Spyhog, and finale The Doomsday Project.

Rest In Peace, we shall all miss you, but we will never forget you.

I'm sorry to say that my aunt passed away in a very similar fashion about two years ago. I may not have had the privilege of knowing him personally, however I can rejoice in the fact that myself and many of you had the esteemed privilege of having Ben's talent and creativity be such a large part of our lives. My heart goes out to his family and to any of us who has experienced the loss of loved ones and mentors alike.
Thanks for all the irreplaceable memories!

They all will be missed.

You know I've never really lost a friend like this before. I lost my grandparents, but this is really different. I knew this day would come but I feel like it happened too soon. There are so many "if onlys" going through my mind but I know that kind of thinking won't get me anywhere. He always called me his niece and referred to himself as "Uncle Ben" when giving me advice. I really wish everyone could have known him like I did.

I just wanted to tell you that the hardest thing I've faced

Thie only means that there will be no hope at all for a revival of the series, SatAM is gone..... FOREVER!!!!!!!

We might as well give up our projects to bring SatAM back as our greatest hero is now gone, this is a sad day indeed.....

I hope as a memorial, they'll find some of his old papers of what he had planned for Season 3 and beyond and publish them. I would have loved to see that, if he wrote it down of course.

I have these... somewhere. I'll probably post them in a few days. Just not right now, sorry.

I just hope Shigesato Itoi isn't next. At least Ben was shown some mercy. "Farewell, Ben. You might have left this world, but not everyone will forget you anytime soon."

Also, Masterge, you should never give up hope. Miracles do exists. The Mother 3 fan translation could be considered one in my book.

Mother 3 was supposed to be on N64, but was canceled around the time of the Gamecube. Work on Mother 3 started up again some time later, but this time it was on Game Boy Advance. It was released in Japan in 2006 (12 years after Mother 2 was release in Japan), and NoA decided not to bother with translating. Some fans decides to create their own translation. They finished version 1.0 of their translation in 2008 (13 years after Earthbound was released in the US). A wait that long had me believing that sign in the game about it sequel was just a joke until actually happened.
