@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

Yeah but Mobious isn't Earth. So..might not to extinct there.

Isn't Mobious Old Earth or something? I think it has something to do with the great war in the Archie comics. I've only heard brief snip its of it but I think Humans are living underground or something after them and the Mobians had a war and the Earth was renamed Mobius or something. You can look it up if you want.
I'm reviewing every Sonic Comic in this video review series! The Sonic Comic Retrospective!..... no, I am not insane... okay, maybe a little

In Archie continuity, yes. In SatAM continuity, no.

But what about Hearst notes that Robotnik was a survivor of a nuclear holocaust on Earth; mutating all the animals to Mobians and killing pretty much all human life?

I've never seen any evidence that he said that.

The way It's always been shown to me: Robotnik and Snively were part of a space exploration team who left Earth. Then Robotnik and Snively stole an escape ship or something and tried to return to Earth, to find that Earth had become Mobius. There was never any mention of nuclear war or radioactive mutaton. Simply the effects of extreme passage of time by Robotnik and Snively (and perhaps the entire exploration team) traveling close to the speed of light.

Projection: If Intruder Organsim reaches civilized areas...

Entire world population infected 2,7000 hours from first contact.

I believe if memory serves, Snively and Julian are very similar to humans but with a slightly different evolution. I do remember as Vlad said they were both part of a scientific exploration team.

It isn't really established. Ever. Even in the Archie continuity they have conflicting stories. There just Human(ish) and the freedom fighters arn't.

We should probably expand on a "stuff that Ben Hurst said" section to the website at some point. Ben's said on at least one occasion that Mobius is a far-future Earth, that nearly all humans were killed in a nuclear holocaust, and that Mobians are animals mutated from the radiation. This was all said on a very public chat in 2005, as a SAGE event. It's not strictly canon since it never made it into the show, but that's what he planned to reveal.

My opinion of the far future Earth theory is that I don't like it and I am glad it never made it into the show.

Maybe the space colony ARC fired at Earth and wiped out a majority of the human population. After mankind's massive extinction, the mutant animals created aboard the space colony were set free to live on the planet and later evolved into the Mobians.

...Well, that's how I see it.

I personally like Mobius being the future Earth. It may sound far-fetched, but it makes more sense. I mean, how can sentient Earthling creatures evolve from a separate planet? huh.gif

...Except that the Sonic Adventure Canon didn't exist when the SatAM canon was written. As such, space colony ARK probably doesn't have any part in SatAM's origin story.

A bit of an "Ultimate SatAM" potential story there lol

Back to topic though... I dont know, I know what role I would want in the freedom fighters, but never gave what species I would be much thought.

Yay for pointless diversions!

Um, that WAS in regard to the whole earth vs. other planet tangent, but then it occurred to me that the fact that i'm hanging around these threads instead of studying is a pointless diversion in itself...

I would be a squirrel, hands-down. One of the little red ones (black would rock, too, but let's face it: we can't ALL be cool fan characters). But I'd want a proper squirrel tail. I've always thought Sally's mother must have been a chipmunk because Sally was cheated out of her rightful tail.
Remember, kids: What happens in Archie Comics, stays in Archie Comics.

According to most everything I've seen, Sally's species is defined as "ground squirrel", which perty much means that she -is- a chipmunk, or something similar.

*snerk* Sorry...was picturing Sally with Bridgette's voice from "Alvin and the Chipmunks" for a moment there.

Actually, I think ground squirrel sounds about right for Sally's species. I actually took a biology class in college which went into detail about a lot of species...including the Thirteen-Lined Ground Squirrel.
