@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

Yep, Griffith and most of the 4Kids voices will be replaced for Sonic Colors (With some exceptions, Pollock will still be doing Eggman). However, Ryan Drummond and the other old voices will *NOT* be returning:

QUOTE
Sega has announced that Jason Griffith will no longer be the voice actor for Sonic the Hedgehog. Roger Craig Smith is confirmed as his replacement.

The actor has previously played the roles of Chris Redfield in Resident Evil 5, Ezio Auditore da Firenze in Assassin’s Creed 2, various roles in Valkyria Chronicles and Siegfried in Soul Calibur IV. In anime, Smith has voiced Deidara from Naruto and Shinji Hirako and Nova from Bleach.

Smith’s credentials in the voice acting world has not gone unnoticed by Sega’s community department – in particular ArchAngelUK, who is said to have played a part in the man’s signing. However, the announcement came from Sega America’s community blog.

Sonic will not be the only character to experience a voice change. SoA’s Kellie reveals that just about “everybody” in the current lineup has been replaced with new actors. The only other new VA to be announced was Kate Higgins as Tails – Higgins has played roles in Valkyria Chronicles, Madworld and anime Naruto in the past.

One cast member who has not been replaced is popular actor Mike Pollock, who retains his position as the malevolent Dr. Eggman.

It's about damn time they changed the character's voice actors. They can keep Pollock, as for the others, it's time for a change

Wow! That's interesting about Sonic's new voice! I'm familiar with Chris, Ezio, and Siegfried, and I love the acting for the characters. smile.gif I'm excited about this change. He's a good actor.

Honestly, they should choose Kari Wahlgren for one of the female characters. Perhaps Rouge. I love Kari and she always plays her characters excellently.

Well, he's the only one so far that can do Eggman's character so well

I find him the weakest Robotnik VA next to Gary Chalk. While people like John Baldry or Deem Bristow had excellent (and in Baldry's case, amazing) vocal range, Pollock sounds far too strained most of the time. It's quite grating if you ask me.

Agreed, Pollock's Voice is way to sandpaperish for me. We need someone like Bristow or Cummings, someone with a mad theatrical splendor to it. Not the annoying cry of Pollocks.

You know, when I was in high school when 4Kids took over, I was pissed off. I wanted Ryan back and I hopped for the best with the petitions.

Looking back on that, that was just stupid. Yeah, Jason sucked quite a bit... but you know what? Drummand wasn't that great either. Yeah, his voice was alright, but was it REALLY as great as a lot of fans made it out to be? I don't think so.

Griffith at least sounded a little like Ryan, but his acting was obviously a step down... Though, I remember liking him in Unleashed.

I wonder what we can expect from the new actor.

Well I am certainly on Roger's side, as I've played at least three games he's voice acted in and can say he is certainly an excellent actor. Even for those who liked Ryan, I think I could say for a lot of people that this new actor is definitely a good one.

While I do not mind Mike Pollock doing Dr. Eggman's voice, it would be very cool if Jim Cummings did Eggman's voice. Cummings was the definition to 'evil' and is one of the reasons I'm very fond of SATAM.

Bringing Cummings in would certainly bring in a new vibe for the Sonic games.

I actually would prefer Jim Cummings for Robotnik as well. Not only am I familiar with him as Robotnik, but also familiar with him from games and movies even. He IS a good actor. I might have even been interested in playing the Sonic games again just for Roger alone, but even more so if Kari Wahlgren and Jim Cummings were a part of the casting.

One can only dream, huh?

Wow. A talented voice actor for a Sonic game? I never thought I'd live to see the day.

Good riddance to Griffith (and for that matter, Drummond, too. I never did quite understand the weird following those two drongos had).
