@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

The Swatbots are ment to show off as the "brainless soldier". Useless alone, they are meant to be in pack. They would be like... The Zergling in Starcraft. Just, not as fast and more breakable.

Yeah I just thought that they would be a little smarter then they are because the SATAM Robotnik Scares the crap out of me to this day (unlike the AOSTH Robotnik) But there dumb enough to have been bult by him and they couldn't shoot the bround side of a barn I mean what's the point of giving them Laser's if they can't even aim properley

I don't know if they were really supposed to be scary. I mean in the first episode "heads or tails" sonic plows through them with ease on the rooftop.

I don't think they're supposed to be geniuses, but on the other hand, most of their stupidity is from Robotnik's obsession with Sonic. He programs them to pursue Sonic no matter what, instead of keeping them in place to guard vulnerable areas of the city. Against regular Mobians, the SWATs do fine most of the time. (They do seem to have bad aim though xD.png)

Mongoose lady, I'll have to ask you to improve your spelling and grammar for future posts. Even Chief uses punctuation.

SWATbots are actually pretty effective in Season 1, with the Freedom Fighters either being captured or just barely escaping their encounters. Only Sonic evades them with any regularity, and even he breaks into a sweat from time to time. It's not until Season 2 where Sonic is completely overpowered that it becomes ridiculous. Season 2 is just lighter overall.

Good point and that's why they scared me when I was a kid it was't until yesterday that I realized how stuipid they truely were When Sonic appeared right in front of them and they just looked at themself's and THEN started shooting and They're aim was terrible and I'm sorry for my grammer but I don't have very good grammer maybe I should just stay off the forum's from now on if people keep complaining about is. sad.gif

dawn typo's.

Had I watched Sonic when it first came out I'd have been afraid of those 'bots too. Aside from Ari when he rammed them from behind, Sonic's the only one I can recall who took out those SWATbots with pure ability. Everyone else basically took it in the ass and allowed those bolt brains to take off with them.

Yeah I can't remember how old I was when I first saw SATAM but I know I was under 10 maybe I was five or six I can't remember hell I can bearly remember anything from any episode that I saw back then that's why I'm watching them again. It's funny that Robotnik still scare's me silly though.

Sad, but true.

I would have loved to see the Swatbots upgraded to the point to where they were as deadly of a foe to the Freedom Fighters as the Terminator robots.

I think the problems with the Sally-bot probly turned Robotnik off of the idea to use more advanced and dangerous robots against the Freedom Fighters. The deficiencies in the Swatbots seem to stem from them being easy and cheap to produce, and being based on non-combat robots, rather than origional designs. They're supposed to be cannon fodder.

Methinks people are overexaggerating their deficiencies here. In addition to all the stuff I said above, I'll repeat this relevant post from another topic:

QUOTE (Lord Exor @ Jun 6 2008, 02:34 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
The inefficiency of the SWATbot model is nothing short of a misconception, purveyed by individuals judging its combat prowess based upon its success rate against Sonic. Evidently, SWATbots weren't programmed to handle anomalous creatures that travel at supersonic speeds. Although it is true that Robotnik could have improved the design by introducing a sub-class specifically built to combat Sonic, his failure to follow through with that alternative in no way reflects the inferiority of the SWATbot.

Even then, Sonic came very close to biting the dust in numerous episodes, usually only being saved by a Power Ring.

I agree with Cheezmatt: in the annals of Faceless Grunts, the SWATBots make a pretty respectable showing for themselves all thing told. They always struck me as being strong if simple, and the fact that the Freedom Fighters always worked to avoid directly confronting them seems to confirm that; even Sonic wound up running away from them more often than not.

"they're".

And no. They're more intelligent than Zombies. But they have problems with the programming Robotnik's done. It's probly more akin to the problem that arose when they overloaded Robocop with extra directives in Robocop 2. If you stripped out stuff like the Priority One thing, they might actually start acting smarter. And if you took Sally, Sonic, Bunny, Tails, and possibly Rotor out of the picture, they might actually pose a similar level of threat to the other Mobians as terminators. Heroes have a tendency to make their enemies look weaker in comparison.

It's Worker Bots who are the 'zombies' of the series. See Chuck's appearance in Ultra Sonic.

Heck, just take Sonic out of the picture and they'll be in trouble. They were caught several times and only Sonic could save them.
