@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

I have only one thing to say about this:

WORK ON TRANSFORMERS 3 AND ONLY THAT!!!!!!!!

Hows about not? Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was the worst movie I saw last year, Terminator: Salvation being a close second. I didn't mind the 2007 Transformers movie, but the sequel felt like Michael Bay decided to take all the things that didn't work in the first movie, times it by ten and then proceed to shit all over everything else. the only decent thing in that whole movie was the character of Jetfire and even then they killed him off and had Optimus Prime wear his parts like some kind of robot Buffalo Bill.

And besides, it's Micahel Bay's production company that's working on the new TMNT movie, not Michael "Holy Shit! Did You See The Size Of That Explosion In My New Movie?!" Bay himself.
'Star Wars' is my story, just like my house is my house. So if I wanna paint my house green, even if everyone else thinks it should be red, guess what? I'm gonna paint it Jar Jar! - George Lucas

"The Devil Inside is the new scam from director William Something Something. The movie stars actors and was edited on a computer. Somewhere. This movie is the latest film in a series of very low budget films designed to look like real movies! And be released in theaters to make a quick buck via a horribly off kilter budget to profit ratio that the general public seem to be stupidly unaware of! These films use to be called 'direct to video' but now they are called 'first run features'. These films then vanish from the theaters, like a rapist leaving the scene of a crime." - Mike Stoklasa of RedLetterMedia

Prime: You want bad? Try watching the DVD extras of Transformers 3. If it's not Bay himself saying how awesome he is, its the rest of the cast saying how fucking awesome he is. And some black guy keeps cheering "Bayformers, baby! Bayformers! Yeaaaah!!!"

I know about the cast saying how awesome he is, just by reading about the stuff surrounding Megan Fox being fired from the movie. About how she's an evil, ungrateful bitch and how he's the most awesome director on the whole planet.

I didn't like their Chainsaw Massacre prequel too much. Yes, it's flashy gore eye candy, but it's also B-grade schlock writing with characters that are incredibly stupid, even by horror film standards, and the ending is just facepalm-worthy. Besides, knowing that it's a prequel took away all of the suspense because we KNOW that they will get away with butchering these idiots. It's really disappointing because, the idea of a prequel to a slash flick featuring Leatherface really would have lent itself to some deep psychological exploration on the influences he had growing up that shaped him into the sick fuck we all know and love. Instead, it is glossed over, and skipped straight ahead to the gore.

That said, I am not saying that it was a bad movie. Really, considering what the cast had to work with, they really did give some pretty damn good performances. It was an okay movie and could very well be a guilty pleasure to many horror/slasher fans, but it is almost the same movie as the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre and it is for that reason that it is really forgettable to me. My complaint is not that they changed anything, it's just that they did not change enough, they did not explore the concept nearly enough at nearly enough angles. Wouldn't it have been a lot more effective if the movie instead tried to make us scared of ourselves and present Leatherface's life in a way we could sympathize with, so we could be horrified at ourselves for agreeing with the developing machinations of his increasingly disturbed mind?

I am not going to write off Platinum Dunes though, because I have heard pretty good things about the Nightmare of Elm Street remake. From what I have been hearing PD is really starting to improve their craft with that film and it is for that reason that I want to slap them upside their heads for shelving the horror franchises they bought after making just one or two movies. They need to make more.

As for TMNT, well I think it would be interesting to see how it will pan out. It'd be hilarious to see if some of their experience doing horror movies leaked out to stain TMNT and make the mood dark and fucked up. If they could do that and pull it off even competently, I would be pleased.

Prime : As someone who have seen the Star Trek 2009 franchise reboot movie and liked it for what it is, I know the feeling all too well when I hear neckbearded manchildren bawww in unison about how that movie raped their childhood/teenage hood. Zaranyzerak on Youtube had a pretty damn good discussion about it on youtube if you care to look it up.

Micheal Bay = Death to the TMNT. His odds of making a good TMNT movie are very very slim.

Mike bay: Uses his money and directing skills to make proffessional fan-films (like transformers and revenge of the fallen) .
Jimmy Cameron: Makes movies.

You've got to admit though, Avatar was just a sci-fi version of Dances with Wolves. It had almost the exact same plot, just with more tech on an alien planet.

As for Michael Bay. Trust me. They could've done worse. It would take real effort for the new movie to be worse than the third Ninja Turtles movie. I've seen his work and I don't think he is capable of screwing it up that bad.
