@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

To be all ...fair here. Its a kids game. I'm not sure why a bunch of 15-late 20 year olds are looking that hard into this.

Are you going to bash the next Dora the Explorer game too?

"OMG!!!! They are killing the franchise! SHES STILL NOT SEXY!!!"

Come on guys, its a fucking kids game. It would be neat for SEGA to release a Sonic game bent on more the older market, but I don't see them doing that any time soon. Why? Bigger market in kids. "OMG I WANT THE SONIC GAME" And then poor Daddy goes out and buys the game. Where as most of the adult market will just rent the game, beat it in a week and return it. Most Adults wont get obsessed and buy a hole crap load of game T Shirts and all that too. When I say most adults don't look at your freak of a collection and go "HEY! I have shirts!!!" Cause I meant most. Not the random select few.

Thus..Its a kids game. Simple isn't it? I mean if we were 6 years old, you would probably play the shit out of this game and design a cardboard rocket to get you to Planet Sonic The Hedgehog.

KIIIIDS GAAAAMMMMEEE.

Glad we talked about this.

Sad, but true unfortunately.

It would be awesome if they released a Sonic game for teens and adults based on the Satam genre. But your explanation does make alot of sense why Sega chooses kiddy over teen games for their Sonic Franchise.

To be honest, I wish Nintendo would buy them out and then show Sega how to make Sonic games as well as they do for Mario.

Same here. thumbsup_anim.gif I mean, Nintendo has had great ideas when it comes to their Mario games. Even with sequels, such as Super Mario Galaxy 2, Nintendo always has some way of surpassing a game's predecessor.

With Sega I don't mind where Sonic is at now compared to some of his games a few years ago, but there is room for improvement. While each story may be different in each Sonic game it is usually the same thing but presented differently. I know if Eggman has some kind of master plan such as Chaos or Dark Gaia his plan will become wildly out of control and sonic will have to save his butt, to name one example.

To be honest, I thought Galaxy 2 would be along the same style as Galaxy 1, but after playing it, it is essentially a new kind of Mario Galaxy.

Now(these are just my opinions) Sega could do a few things to kick the content of their Sonic games up a notch:

1. Get a better plotline for some upcoming games.(For Sonic Unleashed I thought Sega finally had great potential for a story, but instead they came up short handed and only included Tails and Amy throughout the game. I know I was not the only one hoping for a battle between the Werehog and Shadow at some point in the game.)

2. More characters could help make stories more livelier.

3. And maybe, just for us longtime fans, create a Sonic game using the characters from SATAM, maybe like some sort of alternate universe or something like that.

I was perfectly satisfied with the Daytime Levels in Sonic Unleashed and I've heard the levels for Sonic Colors will be the same kind of format. thumbsup_anim.gif

But yeah, you just gotta wonder where Sonic would be right now if Sega was more like Nintendo. tired.gif

Despite everything, I'm looking forward to Sonic Colors! cool.gif

Honestly, they should have stopped after Sonic 06, but no! Sega just had to keep on digging eh?! I mean Sonic and the Secret Rings was bad, Unleased I also thought was bad, Sonic Chronicles was below average, and don't even get me started on Black Knight.
And seriously, does Sega think Robotnick's plans have been in any way evil, I mean his plan in 06 was not really explained, and now.....a theme park..............

At this point I will only play sonic games that include Adventure 2 and any game before that, I appologize but to me, the games havent been way past cool like they used to be. sleep.gif

I mean I like Shadow, and knuckles, the other characters?.........let me give an example: in Sonic 06, the only characters who had any impact on the story were Sonic, Silver and Shadow. If you took out ANY of the other characters and I guarantee you NOTHING would have been different. Most of the characters are irritating and personality deprived. Even Tails has been bugging me as of late.
Sorry if this seemed longer than it should have......

Sega sadly never wanted to make Robotnik a serious villain, just a clownish fat guy who wants to rule Mobius.

Just look at his sprites from Sonic 1-3. He looks like Bozo the clown with glasses.

Pathetic ain't it?

It was DIC who gave us Julian and Snivley, the 2 best Sonic villains ever.

I find that very sad that DIC could make a better Sonic villain than Sega could, or should I say wanted to.

What's even sadder is that the Sega team completely disliked the Sonic Satam concept when they looked at it.

What, was that version of Sonic too much for them to handle? Was Sega of Japan that content having their mascot just being a cute blue hedgehog who ran through the forest collecting rings and freeing animals from goofy looking robots?

Sometimes I wish I knew why Sega chose this path, but I've got a feeling I wouldn't like what I discovered.
