Then that should tell you something, shouldn't it?
I'll give you an example. In my case, back in 2003 I used to repeatedly help out (or try to) new members, especially ones having trouble in the RP forum. CTM did too, when he was still around, and wrote whole books in each post. Now it may have been that, the fact that I was friendly to new people, or it may have been the fact that I kept my cool in situations when the one I was trying to help didn't listen.
Or yanno, maybe it was the fact that I made one of the mods/admins aware of that particular fellow having more than one account atop his threatening board members. (Was either Prime or Kaotix I told, hard to remember).
Y'see, it's not ALL about being here a long time and knowing the ropes. It's about being the adult in tense situations, not necessarily taking sides, but being the mature one and attempting to find resolution in problems when a mod or admin is not around. It shows that you can demonstrate responsibility without necessarily pulling rank. While being a master/silver FUSer isn't necessarily a requirement to be a mod or admin, it certainly couldn't hurt to have such qualifications.
...wow, I'm doing it again.
