That quote to me was the epitome of how stupid and idiotic Sonic X was as a TV Show.

No supervillain would would ever say anything that pathetic.

I mean, If that was Julian, he'd have those 2 taken to the roboticizer in a heartbeat to become his robot slaves.

I'm sure, without a doubt 4Kids wanted to the viewers to get a moral out of the story. And that moral is: take your friends hostage, shackle them with chains and lock them up in secluded rooms, but don't ever hurt them!

Japanese doesn't have swears. (Well, there was that one time Sonic said "Shit!" in English without getting bleeped, but I bet Antoine could have said "merde" without getting bleeped too. Foreign swears just don't have impact.)

Other characters swear. At least the subbed ones I watched. I don't know my Japanese enough to watch it without help. I do know some though.

No...no... That's not fair! It's just not fair! That would've been pretty damn cool. Not excellent, but I'd be more likely to watch more than one season.

Speaking of which the crappy "Sonic in Space" arc was unfinished and unintended to appear. It first appeared in france before it was finished. That is why the animation is so horrible and the plots tend to be so hectic. It has been made now (unknown if they finished the animations) but originally it was going to be dropped.

Unfortunately Chris is still in the Japanese version. And he acts pretty much the same.

I speak Japanese, and I'm telling you, it doesn't have swears. The closest things to swear words I know of are "kuso" (which probably wouldn't even be bleeped) and sexual words like "chinchin".

Some fansubbers seem to think words like "kutabare" and "zakennayo" are swear words, but they don't know what they're talking about.

4Kids IMO should be criminally prosecuted for all the shows they've butchered over the years.

I have never seen one television company go totally out of their way to just completely ruin every beloved copyrighted character they could get their hands on just to make a profit. Completely shameful!

If they wanted to make a show with morals, then they should made them BELIEVABLE!

DIC was also a kid's television network, yet for the most part they produced quality shows during their time.

Sure, alot of them were corny, goofy and a bit off the wall, but I found them alot more enjoyable than anything 4Kids ever made.

Well I stand corrected. Again I don't know enough Japanese on my own to even know what words are the swear words. I think Sonic said 'baka' in one episode but I could be wrong. And I am not sure that is a swear word.

My five year-old cousin says the d-word and h-word all the time. Also swear words don't directly translate. Baka may mean idiot, but it could still be a swear word in Japanese. It is like the difference between the a-word and butt, one is a swear and the other is not but they share the same meaning.

For the sake of being difficult, "ass" only really becomes a curse word when you add "hole" to it.

Well, you'll never find the words "damn" and "hell" in materials marketed toward children. But you'll find "baka" used in children's media all the time.

The Japanese simply don't have the notion of words that are inherently offensive. If a Japanese person is very angry, yeah, they will use very offensive speech, but it's not equivalent to swearing. Ever see or hear somebody say something without swearing, but they said it with such intensity that they might as well have? That's what it's like.

I think he was a pointless and useless character. He only ever got in the way, cried that his life sucked before Sonic, and got more screen time then most of the Sonic characters.

Chris Thorndyke IMO should have been a background character at best. He was weird, annoying and just downright creepy at times.

That scene with him and Sonic near the pool in Season 3 was completely disgusting.

Of all the kids for Sonic to hang out with, they had to pick one who's an all out loser.
