@  furrykef : (25 July 2015 - 03:35 AM)

When was that? Depending on when it was, it might have been a DNS issue. Those should be gone now.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

on*

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

Red said he couldnt get one

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

Well, I want to start planning this early because I know a few people who will probably come and they are comming from quite some ways..

Anyways, the bloody cons have always been in the East states for years now. Well you know what? Alot of us live out West.

So Ive been talking to a few people and we are aiming at mid august in Vancouver BC. So if you are american, passport up boys or you won't get back home.

Vancouver should have a lot going for it mid August, for one, PNE is in full swing, and two, a lot of stuff should still be around from the olympics.

Anyways, if you are interested in comming or have ideas, post in here.

Well I guess first things first. What are the local food, hotel, and transport accommodations? What is around the area and what are some good travel rates? Deals? Some airlines give discounts and with the Olympics Vancouver is bond to have something.

Vancouver…It would certainly be a change of pace thats for sure. I’m interested in the idea. I’ve never been outside of the US. Denver, CO was the farthest West that I had ever been. And even in the Mile high City I bumped into some FUSers there as well. haha.

Well how to get there, thats your own problem to look up. I'm not booking everyones trips myself here.

I know in August Vancouver will have the PNE, http://www.pne.ca/ There is also a bunch of other junk to do and see there http://www.tourismva...r.com/visitors/

Eating.. Well, its a huge city. It has everything, and a lot of hotels. Not to mention transit is fairly easy because of the sky train.

No way, too far tongue.gif

Being the resident here, I guess I can fill in any info about Vancouver you need.
The airport is YVR airport AKA Vancouver International Airport (same place, I don't know what YVR stands for).
http://www.yvr.ca/en/default.aspx
The new Canada Line Skytrain (basically a fancy pants subway) connects directly to the airport, and has stops all over downtown, and connects to the Millenium Line that goes all over Greater Vancouver.
http://www.translink.ca/
The Fairmont Hotel is right next to the airport. It might be pricy, though. There's also a direct shuttle going to the Travelodge in Richmond. There's a lot more than those two, though.
http://www.fairmont....ancouverairport
http://www.travelodg...mp;brandInfo=TL

The PNE will be the big thing, it's got Playland amusement park with all the rides and stuff, and other shows and events going on.
The Vancouver Aquarium is down there, the Art Gallery.. probably other things I'm forgetting.
http://www.pne.ca/
http://www.vanaqua.org/
http://www.vanartgallery.bc.ca/

For shopping, Metrotown's the main mall. Just a big ass shopping mall that has a movie theatre. There's a smallish arcade in there too.
http://www.metropolisatmetrotown.com/
Granville Island is the outdoor marketplace, it's a nice area just to walk around. Lots of local shops, the farmer's market, kid's marketplace, etc.

If I think of anything else I'll post it.. ask me anything you want.

A bit far for me, but I'll look into it. I should be back to the states by then. However, I am not sure how many people here are from Australia, but we could have an unofficial meet up. Sydney anyone? IDK just a thought as long as I am down here and would probably never otherwise see you people. Anyway I do not mean to interrupt your Vancouver planing so please continue.

I suppose the length of the con will go until we're sick of the sight of each other.

So about 5 minutes when we all meet Paul.

This sounds like a pretty good plan even though I can't go. This gives us a chance to all meet and talk about Satam and other things in general.
What are you guys going to do there exactly?

Alright guys, I need to draw more of you into this. If Seattle is more accesable to you all then we can see if we can set something up for there instead.

As for dates I'm looking towards August 10th to 13th. Maybe a bit longer who knows, I need to find out whats good for you all.

So gimme a hand here guys.

Holding FUS CON in the U.S. "greatly" increases my chances of going…

…but Canada sounds more fun and interesting.

I’m torn…

If it helps, I'm planning on flying into Seattle and renting a car from there so people could get rides from Seattle, they'd just need a passport.

Ah yeah that would help out a lot of people I'm sure. I don't think I'm going to drive to Vancouver.. for me its just cheaper going by bus. After the ferries and everying just catching the bus down is cheaper.

And seeing as I don't think I'll be car pooling with anyone as.. Pretty sure no one is on my way to Vancouver, inless someone else here lives on the Sunshine coast, then it'll just be a bus for me.

Vancouver is fairly easy to get around too if you go buy sky train. Well, if your destination is on the sky train path anyways. Other then that its driving or taxi. I don't think there is a sky train stop near the PNE, but.. I'm sure Salamander would know more on that then myself.

So the dates I'm looking at are August 10th to 13th. Or maybe the 9th to 13th if we just do a full 5 days out of it or something. Be easy days for me to get off because I told my boss I'm taking a week off around my birthday this year seeing as the week off last year got canned the day before I took it.
