@  furrykef : (25 July 2015 - 03:35 AM)

When was that? Depending on when it was, it might have been a DNS issue. Those should be gone now.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

on*

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

Red said he couldnt get one

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

Ahh, just what I need to banish the dissertation blues! And it's on the Wii! Hoowaaaay! thumbsup_anim.gif

I know I'm psyched for this one. I loved the Advance and Rush series, so this is right up my alley - brand new graphics with good ol' gameplay. The old sound effects and the goal-signpost at the end were nice touches too. Can't wait to hear more about what's in store for Sonic 4. laugh.gif

Whoa, whoa, whoa... it's an episodic game?! I foresee another HL2...

Episodic games: When we don't have enough ideas to release it all in one go, but we know you'll pay full price each time anyway.

Now that you've mentioned Half Life 2, I'm picturing this game being about Sam Hedgehog Who Was Sonic Hedgehog's Brother. emot_amy.gif

Oh good we're not all whining and bitching because Sonic isn't using retro style and has a homing attack... phew.. thank you FUS for redeeming SOME of my faith in the fandom.

I just wanted to tell you that the hardest thing I've faced
Wasn't the teasing or the pain
It was convincing myself I wasn't stupid, strange, or lame
And helping others do the same.

Yeah. It's kind of funny watching one idiot in particular sob and moan into his armpits over this. "Sega has betrayed us again!!! Ohhhh woe is me."

I hope the game plays well. No stupid gimmicks. I liked Sonic Rush 2 I played last year, even that stupid Aussie chick in it (the accent was terribly cute), so something like that -only better- would be great. And Sonic 2 special stages. And no voice overs.

When I was checking some game sites, I was very happy to find out that Project Needlemouse is Sonic the Hedgehog 4.

Sonic the Hedgehog 4 episode 1 takes place after Sonic & Knuckles.

Here is another link 'Project Needlemouse' is Sonic the Hedgehog 4; episodic on PS3, Wii and 360 this summer

Tell me about it, John and Nique. Reading the cries of "RUINED FOREVER" over the tiniest of details just made me feel ashamed of how petty and spiteful this fandom can be.

I don't care how 'modern' Sonic looks. I just want a fun game. Is that so wrong? sad.gif

Because people love righteous rages, especially when nothing is on the line?

I'm just upset that it's supposed to be downloads only, which means I cannot get my hands on it. THIS makes sad Rina sad. sad.gif

Otherwise I love the graphics and the details - it's exactly what Sonic's supposed to be. biggrin.gif Now lets just hope this one doesn't fall prey to the Sonic cycle of hell and actually TURNS OUT WELL.

Never fear! I'm sure some dodgy bugger out there will rip into a ROM for the PC. That's what I'll be waiting for seeing as I can't console download this thing either. wink.gif

Plus, SEGA will probably put the full game on regular release once all the chapters have been up for a while anyway. Anything for more money. wink.gif

The only way I can play it is if it gets a PC release, which, unlike the other Genesis games, it probably never will. Alas.

My thoughts break down something like this:

*On the plus side, YAY IT'S SONIC 4 THAT'S SO AWESOME THANK GOODNESS SEGA'S FOLLOWING CAPCOM'S EXAMPLE AT LONG LAST!!! The style, the feel, the music...it's wonderful and captures the old-school Sonic spirit just right. As well, my inner storyteller is most intrigued not only by SEGA's promise that the plot of the game continues on from S3&K, but also by that "Episode 1" tag...
*On the negative side, that "Episode 1" tag has my inner gamer nervous. The episodic format works well enough for point-and-click games, which work best in bite-sized chunks anyway, but for it to work with a Platformer, SEGA's going to have to balance the amount of content per episode VERY carefully, IMO.

On the whole, then? Quite excited, but nervous that SEGA will still find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. lD;

Well to be fair, the implementation of the homing attack is poorer game design.

From the look of things, there's a pretty good chance thing'll turn out well. Now if the fandom can stop bitching about it and be glad they at least got SOME of what they wanted, we'll be all good. I for one don't mind the new age Sonic look, as it makes it recognizable to kids who may not have played the Genesis games (believe it or not, it happens). And so long as the homing attack is implemented well enough it should be an enjoyable game. Also, I don't even have one of the newer consoles required to play this game, but i'll be starting a new job come Monday, so I can finally get a 360 like i've been wanting!

How do you think the Homing Attack should be implanted?
