@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

I'm not saying Creationism/ID should be taught as a science, either. Teach it as cultural background or something. I don't care. People are smart enough to decide for themselves. And those who aren't will probably forget what they've decided the following day, anyway. Again, I don't see why it has to be so controversial.

I've heard it said that Creation is getting such a limited release to make it appear more important to certain audiences. I know other films have been released the same way with similar results. The whole "lolControversy" may play into it some, but then, controversy was the reason why films like The Passion of the Christ and The Da Vinci Code got such wide releases. Everybody's gonna want to watch controversy just for the sake of controversy, not to actually discuss the issues within the film. Whereas giving a film a limited release might make the film appear more important to audiences who really care about the subject. Those who don't just want to walk out of a theater boasting, "Hey, I saw a controversial film!".

Honestly, I just want to see the movie Creation. That's all.

Speaking as a Christian, I will admit that we tend to do ourselves more harm than good. A lot of 'em are way too hot-headed about what they believe in to actually be any good at what they like to call "witnessing". And the few that aren't that hot-headed just tend to come off as car salesmen. I believe what I believe in, but don't really want to be associated with the insensitive Bible-thumpers out there that claim to "love people in the name of Christ", or the get-rich-quick TV preachers out there. They just come off as shallow and hypocritical to me.

Fortunately Australia doesn't seem to have the same amount of out-spoken Christians with theology learned from children's books as America, at least in my experience. I have seen some American televangelists (*cough* Pat Robertson *cough*) and they appear to be more of a cult than part of a major religion.

On the topic of the film, I'm not sure I'd find it interesting myself. If it's a thinking movie, it's not for me. I watch movies where I don't have to think.

Never heard of it until now...

I do believe in God... There've been a few times that I've had some particularly frightening close calls... Call it luck if you wish... But, seeing as how my luck tends to run, I really don't feel that's an appropriate word... popeky2.gif

I don't believe that the concept of evolution is actually a threat to the concept of intelligent design, so much as an explanation of it. The 2 concepts aren't actually mutually exclusive, except in the minds of those who can't understand the concept of metaphors. While science is very good at explaining the "hows" of things, sometimes it's not always so good at explaining the "whys"... It would seem that the problem is with the all-too-vocal minority that in general tends to give Christians a bad name... There's a lot fewer of us who agree with them than they'd like everyone to think... But they've got the knack for getting into positions of power and doing stuff like banning the teaching of evolution from schools...

I personally have no interest in the movie. But that's because of its nature, rather than its subject. After all, my favorite movie involves a type of being that can effectively evolve itself in a matter of seconds... I'm just not into stuff like biopics, documentaries, etc. Now, maybe if they gave Darwin a gatling gun and made him gun down the KKK or something...

But that - is another story.

Although it seems more likely to have Ben Franklin to do that in the Dr. McNinja universe.
This is a legally binding sentence.

Ugh! I dislike that man. Every time he opens his mouth I feel the need to apologize or something.
