@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

Alright, we are looking for a temp sea3on artist. This is just for one of our shorts inbetween the main story.

Because it is a Sea3on temp staff offering you will be paid for it, just like our current staff are.

So if you are interested in becoming a temp artist to do one of our shorts, post some of your artwork here. Myself and John will then pick one of you and decide who has the right stuff we are looking for.

The script is already done for the first short, so sorry writters, we don't need ya.

Well... the shorts were kind of a way to give you and Salamander a break between issues. Does not disqualify you though if you want to do it. smile.gif What's your art-work like?

What's the deadline for this? I have a pic in mind that will knock your socks off (if done right), but I haven't started on it yet and it may take a while for me to do it.

The deadline is 'as soon as we find an artist'.

Yeah, when we find a artist we like we..find a artist we like. Just post any of your work. Then... we will decide. Would prefer to find a artist sooner then later

I'm experimenting with a new style for this, which is one reason why I can't just whip up a pic. When (if) I post it, you will see what I mean.

What can I say? I love to draw as much as I love to write. happy.gif

Anywho, here's a sampling of my work. Admittedly, I can't color digitall, like at all, so if that's a dealbreaker, lemme know, I'll understand. You can see the rest at my Gallery here: http://sonicsatam.co...t...er&user=216

How long are those short stories and how involved are their backgrounds? How much panels are we talking about?

It's 10 pages. No specific number of panels, but each page has a clear description of what's needed (actions, point of views ect). Background doesn't have to be too heavy, if at all. However, there are specific scenes that require a clear establishing shot (Robotnik's HQ's, a bird's eye view of someone moving down an alley-way, hover-units moving overhead, and ect). Also, rain is a very important theme for this short. More specifically, rain-fall from different angles.

It would be nice, too, if the artist can include the dialogue captions for each page (there is very, very little spoken dialogue; it's mostly all captions). Colouring is not important right now as I still haven't decided if I shall keep it B&W to set it apart from the main story - and I can just as easily hire a colourist later on anyway.

This short calls for continuity in the character designs with the main story - which are SatAM designs. So, no SEGA, or Archie Sonic designs (no green eyes, and his quills are a mo-hawk), and Sonic and co have four fingers, not five. 1132.png.gif

As has been mention already, Sea3on staff are always paid. For a ten-page B&W short we're offering a flat 100USD (more is negotiable depending on the skill and speed of the artist), to be paid in full once completion of the line art - or we can do this Sopranos style and pay half up front and the rest on delivery.

If you guys are interested:

I can deliver black&white lineart with the texting in roughly three months, either als .tiff, .rif or .pdf including downsized .jpg versions, with sketches for proofs. But I'd prefer more than one deadline though - I'm known to have issue with longer deadlines. *cough* *hangs head in shame*

[EDIT:] And I'm not even half as good in staying on model as the current artist. Sonic & Sally would most likely a bit taller, since I fail at the SatAM bobble-heads.

Chief, I would be more than happy to be your paid artist. In fact, I am a little bit of a comic artist. I draw some in my spare time, usually Sonic the Hedgehog comics. Besides, I need a little experience. I was working on a Sonic comic anyway, so this won't get in the way of my schedule. And it must be in SatAM style, correct? I should be able to complete it within one month, or less depending on the deadline.
I won't give up! I will put SatAM Sonic back on the air!

I wouldn't mind donating my time and efforts to your cause. You guys already know what my art looks like for the most part. If not... http://sonicsatam.co...?showtopic=1823
Just note, I don't know how to do caption bubbles so you'd need someone else to handle that.

How quickly you would want the artist to complete pages? or, What is the average deadline for completing the illustrations for a Sea3on script?
I believe in what I want to believe in, you believe in what you want to believe in, so when someone wants to believe in something, no one will know what to believe!

We need all 10 pages in one go. Because the short will be updated faster then the normal arcs. The short will be fully up in 1 month. So 2 a week intill the last week when it will be 4. Or something like that.

Deadline when we need all of this... After the first Arc is done. I sadly don't have a current timeline on this as it is still going on and its not a for sure yet on how many more pages we got. Depends on how long Salamander stretches the pages out.

I know your art work luv, I also know you won't draw the characters as deformed 6-foot-tall anthro mutants. wink.gif So no worries there.

The only drama is three months is going to be too long. The current arc will be finished in a little over seven weeks, and so the Short arc needs to start the following Friday. March the 19th is the due date for the first page; two pages a week to follow that until completion of the ten pages (every Tuesday and Friday). So, that's seven weeks to have a backload ready to go by March the 19th, and another four-five weeks of time during the update schedule. The job is yours, Chal, if you can manage something like that. smile.gif Otherwise I will have to say no thanks, but will certainly come and bug you for the next one.
