When was that? Depending on when it was, it might have been a DNS issue. Those should be gone now.

Red said he couldnt get one

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

Just finished reading The Neverending Story by Michael Ende. One of the most enjoyable and emotional books I've ever read.

The train station I take into work every day has a 'book dropoff' for people who want to recycle their books, just like doctor's offices do for magazines. They primarily have a neverending supply of romance novels, but yesterday I found a sci-fi hardback by the name of 'Warbreaker' by Brandon Sanderson.

Apparently it's not the first in the series, but it reads like picking up a standalone story. I'm only three chapters in, but I can tell I'm going to like it.

Reading Thomas Paine's "Common Sense," which everyone in America needs to read. Everyone in congress should at least read the first five pages, but I think they are all illiterate since they won't even read the 17 page Arizona Immigration law (i'm talking to YOU Mr. attorney general).

moved on to reading Maia (the prequel to Shardik). At 1200 pages, it's a good long story, and even better a good long smutty story. If you thought Adams only wrote about rabbits you'd be wrong. Gonna be horny for a few weeks.

Also just watched all of "The Stand" today, which has encouraged me to read the Stephen King novel when I finished Maia. Thought it was funny that the guy who spread the superflu at the beginning of the story was a soldier named Campion.

Gonna finish Maia tomorrow, probably. I've taken way longer to read this book than I should have, but it's all good.

I'm trying to decide what to read next, considering I'm moving away from Richard Adams now that i've read all I want to read from him, unless he's secretly writing another Beklan/Watership.

I need help deciding where to go next. Does anyone know anything about "Guardians of Ga'Hoole?" I saw the amazing trailer for the upcoming film, and thought I ought to read the books, but I didn't know if they were good enough to be enjoyed by adults. If they're well written stories, I'll take to them. I can't move back into the pop fiction anymore.

Currently reading Dune Messiah, the first sequel in the franchise. I'd been putting it off for quite some time. I need to remind myself more often that I've got all six in the original series.

Dead Until Dark, by Charlaine Harris.

The stories taking some interesting turns, but there are a few yawnworthy cliches in there and she seems a bit too obsessed by what people are wearing and their hair and eye colour. She's playing quite a few tropes straight with no apparent sense of irony, and some of her prose could do with a polish.

I think my tastes are getting more refined for this kind of thing. This book doesn't have the delectable turn of phrase that even some of my fellows on FP have.

Hmmm...I got those Ebooks off Ebay a while back but haven't touched them yet. I'm kind of wondering if just renting the TV series would be more enjoyable.

I got excerpts from Commentarii De Bello Gallico ("Commentaries on the Gallic War") by Julius Caesar coming in the mail. Entirely in Latin. So I'll be reading that soon...

Currently reading Lingua Latina Per Se Illustrata (a fiction book intended to teach Latin), also written entirely in Latin, which I'll need to get through before I take on Caesar.

At the recommendation of my father, I'm gonna read a few novels by Vince Flynn while i'm on vacation. It's supposed to be a lot of political intrigue type stuff, involving situations based on real events, but they could potentially happen. We'll see how we go.

just finished Lee Child's 61 hours. Stayed up for two days reading it, and couldn't sleep after the ending because the author is EVIL. I'd recommend checking out the Jack Reacher series if you aren't familiar with it, especially if you like mystery novels that are a bit on the gritty side (sans cliche detective). Having read all his novels so far, I haven't been disappointed with any of them.

I don't know. I'm not generally that into vampire stories, they're just not my kind of monster. Underworld was okay but past that... I'd say that Ms. Harris' storyline seems like a better version of Twilight, but it's still quite Twilightish.
