@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

'Tis The SatAM Season #1, Official FUS Contest Winner!

So, with Christmas only a few days away, it's about time we announced the winner to the first FUS seasonally-themed fanction competition! The judging panel has taken a blow with John absent from the internet (we still haven't ruled out the possibility one of you took him out to increase your chances in this contest) so it's only been myself and Chief that have picked the winner, though we're confident John would agree. tongue.gif

Disappointingly we only had four entries, which is better than the two it originally looked like we'd get, and because of the lack of entries we haven't chosen a runner-up. So without further ado…

… the winner of the first official FUS Seasonal SatAM Fanfiction Competetion is:

Gojira007 and his adaption of the Christmas Special 'Twas the Night Before Christmas'

And you win the totally awesome prize of a game of your choice, which John will sort out with you upon his return, provided you're not the one who took him out of course.

Although it was a little too long, Chief and I chose Gojira's entry because we felt it integrated the SatAM cast into the story in the best way whilst keeping them in character and sticking close enough to the original story without copying it word for word. And of course it felt nice and Christmassy too and all that jazz!

An honorable mention goes out to the other entrants Kef, Massagraf, and The_Man, who also gave us some nice Christmassy fics to read and get us into the holiday spirit with too!

All the fics are available to download and read at the bottom of this post. (Once Chief uploads them)

So yeah, thanks for entering guys, great work from you all and congrats Gojira!

Well, I must admit I'm honored. happy.gif Apologies for the length; I know you guys wanted to keep it short, 'n' I did my best, but ultimately the story wound up really needing to be the length it was. I'm simply glad you enjoyed it well enough to pick it as the Winner, though, so again, thank you VERY much. happy.gif

Do I request my Prize here, or should I PM you guys?

Just my luck. I manage to get lucky enough to finish it in time and send it in, then it turns out it doesn't get judged. Eight pages and about a month of wasted time.

D'oh.

Did you only send it to John? He's been away so he won't have been able to get it to me and Chief. :-/

Yes, that is correct. I have a feeling most of the entries were sent to him. That might explain the reason of only four entries. Is it too late now send it you or Chief? If so, then maybe the runner up could chosen from the ones that were sent only to him.

Maybe if there are multiple remaining entries, John could simply judge them separately himself -- as if it were a separate contest -- and some kind of compromise can be reached for how to divide the prizes?

Don't worry, I'm sure they won't just ignore your entry, in any case.

I hope so, Kef. I actually made an effort to include many elements from the show. The power ring, swatbots, Robotropolis, a few of the Knothole Freedom Fighters, and the roboticizer.

Me? A lowly Mod, make decisions at Christmas? I'm afraid it's that Canadian Scrooge that calls the shots around here, Tiny Tim. I'm just here to count the money, be flayed and work extra hours on Christmas Eve. sad.gif

Yeah don't worry PSI (and anyone else who's entry didn't get judged >_< ), I'll give Chief a swift kick up the arse to sort this out and figure out a solution.

Fuck that shit, I'm blaming John. He is the one who told me to go on without it even though I first told him he may have stuff in his inbox.

Alright, who sent to John and no one else? Besides PSI.
