Red said he couldnt get one

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

I like the original satam designs myself.. I'm not crazy about the archie designs, they're not as cute or distinctive in my eyes.

Well I can only see a few of the images. I'll go for original Bunnie and maybe vested Sally. Boots alone looks out of balance. Wear something on top or wear nothing. The blonde bombshell is horrid in every conceivable way.

Bunnie: I definitely prefer the original SatAM design. Daisy Duke does not work for her, at all. I do like the cowgirl look, but I like to think of that Bunnie as a different character completely. It's just not the same.

Sally: Definitely with the vest. I wouldn't even consider that first pic to be Sally. She did have a blonde look in Sonic miniseries #0, though, where she looked the same as pink Sally with different colors (and the hair tie wasn't visible).

I think both of the characters were at their best when drawn by Pat Spaziante (before he went manga style), as is the case for pretty much any character ever. His characters had taller proportions than the SatAM versions, but not too tall.

All the Bunnie schemes so far were cute, but I have to go with the cowgirl-look. Makes her more mature and badass.

Proto-Sallys were horrible but the redhead exhibitionist made a lot of boys turn red themselves. The vest doesn't change much, really.

SatAM design for Bunnie, SatAM-with-vest for Sally, and no, not because I have a problem with her nude; as many people have pointed out, the vest doesn't really fix that anyway. I just think the vest makes her design feel more complete. happy.gif

Yeah, I think it's partly 'cause of the boots... the vest really complements the boots. And, though you don't see it in those particular pictures, Season 1 Sally had no pupils (only irises) and Season 2 Sally did, which made her eyes look more complete as well. (For some reason, the "Sally with vest" picture there actually gives her white pupils... weird.)

I like the SatAM ones myself and maybe the early Archie ones. The newer Archie ones are just god awful.

Bunnie: SatAM and Early Archie. Though I don't like the metal crotch Archie gives her tongue.gif Daisy Dukes is just trashy looking (that picture doesn't help lol) and Cowgirl is ok but a little too gimmicky-like.

Sally: I like her vested...the vest doesn't really get rid of the naked factor (which I think is cute!) and it helps balance out her boots...plus it gives her pockets and everyone needs those tongue.gif I do like the long-haired Sally too.

Is Archie really that bad or is it the SatAM nostalgic factor?

(Tails nearly freaking out on Daisy Duke in the background.)

For me it's both. I actually find that the comic wasn't even all that great back in its heyday, even when it was basically a comic version of SatAM, so I know it's not just me looking at the old days through rose-colored glasses. Some of the individual stories/issues were good, but there was always a lot of lameness to go with it.

But what about the schemes? Is it because of the nostalgia that nobody else thinks the Archie Bunnie is more cute?

To return to Archie's quality, The earlier issues were just silly AoStH/SatAM crossover, but EndGame (47-50) was pretty awesome. Still I do think the other comics are pretty good, but there are just too much characters, they changed badass Robotnik into lame-o Eggman, they destroyed the SatAM-SonSal atmosphere with uninteresting characters like Amy, Mina and Fiona, and focus too much on the Knuckles backstories. I'm at #100 now, this guy SonicComicWorld puts them all on YouTube. Some issues were just flatout boring but there have been some good ones too.

Archie is our only connection with the Freedom Fighters left, and I doubt there will be a new SatAM or a game starring the FF. I read somewhere here the sales aren't doing very well, so it may be one of our last hopes on the FF-legacy...
