@  furrykef : (25 July 2015 - 03:35 AM)

When was that? Depending on when it was, it might have been a DNS issue. Those should be gone now.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

Red said he couldnt get one

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

Finally finished the Assassins' Creed games... jeez... they're gonna get tired of making the games and just do a movie at this rate... essentially that's what it is. One long playable interactive movie.

I just ordered Ultimate Ghosts & Goblins, and Megaman Powered Up. Yes, Powered Up is kiddy, but I NEED to see the original game improved-upon. NEED it.

Also need superb frustration that will make me throw my PSP across the state. If Ultimate Ghosts & Goblins is ANYTHING like its predecessors, this PSP is gonna FLY, baby!

*taps foot waiting for UPS to send his damn games already, since PSP games are so hard to find in game stores*

Oh yeah... shit... God of War III should be coming in any day now... bastards better have my copy when I get there, or I'm beating an employee to death with his own corpse. I saw Chuck Norris do it, it CAN be done.

*mutters something, the only intelligible parts are UPS, explosives, and rubber chickens*

Tracking says it should have been here by today... 'cept it hasn't left Kentucky since the 25th! RWARGHBLEMNEDIE!

...

I need new games, bad. My new pets Nigel and Ivan only entertain for so long. Also, they bumped back the release date for God of War 3, so I'll have to KEEP waiting for it. :\

UPDAET: Powered Up was surprisingly short, even with the two new bosses... and the yellow demon was a joke. At least you can now play as any of the robots once you beat them with the mega buster.

Ultimate Ghosts & Goblins on the other hand, is everything I hoped for. Multiple endings, magic use, and the ability to stage select whenever you want! FINALLY! Even when you rescue the princess, it's not over! I've been scrounging throughout the game for any and all secrets I can find, but I'm still coming up short... I hate resorting to gamefaqs, but at this rate I won't have a choice. The first 22 rings of light were fairly easy to find, but the last 11 are impossible... not to mention I can't find the second rose witch, or one of the three ingredients she needs.

Also I've found a glitch. If you obtain a kind of magic and die before finishing the stage, you lose the magic and it's no longer available to get again. Thanks jerks! Good thing it didn't happen with anything critical to finish the game completely, like the stone magic, which you have to use on stones to FIND HALF THE RINGS.

Thankfully it was just the 'locate treasure chest' magic, which they decided to place in the hardest, most inaccessable area of the game, where you're most likely to lose it. The only way to get it is to be in possession of the fallen angel armor to fly (which is very rare, and it's only as strong as the regular armor), and you must survive an assault from what I call 'armor munchers', constantly respawning serpentine flying creatures that latch on and impede your movement. If three latch on, they even prevent you from flying, and if you fall into the muck right there, you lose the armor anyway. The only way to get them off is to shake the analog stick back and forth rapidly. Meanwhile, more keep respawning when you do... and once you get across and find the magic finally, you have to make the return trip across the hazardous area, and make sure you don't accidentally grab the cursed armor on your way across, or your ass is dropping into the muck!

This was just the sort of frustration I was looking for. THANK YOU, CAPCOM!

UPDAET #2: Wow, no new posts in all this time?

GOW3 finally arrived. Joygasming the whole way. Currently at the last boss, but the fight keeps getting interrupted by cutscenes! STOP INTERRUPTING ME AND LET ME FINISH HIM, DAMMIT!

Also for the lulz for anyone that plays:

Even after all these years, Baldur's Gate can still sink its teeth into me. Especially after I've modded the shit out of it.

I'm playing through the first game as a monk (formerly a BGII-only class) with the help of a mod that allows you to play the first game in the second game's engine.

Only one of the series I ever played was Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance. Either one or two. Whichever one has a beholder called Xantum. Which sounds like a drug. It was a good game. I don't think I'm that crazy about it though. And I played Neverwinter Nights so many times, I can't sit through 5 minutes of it now. I'm severely burned out on NWN. Dragon Age though... *moves eyebrows up and down*

Aside from being having "Baldur's Gate" in their names, I don't think the Dark Alliance games had much to do with the PC RPGs. The PC RPGs are top-down, tactical party-based games. A bit like Neverwinter Nights with six PCs instead of one and a henchman. And much better artistic direction. And writing. And gameplay. And... well... everything.

And I say this as someone who loved NWN.

Oh I loved NWN too. Particularly Aarin Gend. And especially Valen Shadowbreath. wub.gif I just got really burned out replaying NWN's official campaign and two expansions the Platinum edition came with.

Never did play NWN2 though. The people are...ugly. mellow.gif Especially the elves. Especially the women!

Now that I think about it Xian, you're probably one of the only people I've met on or offline who's beaten Ghosts'n Goblins.

This is true, Ratty. Ghosts & Goblins is a VERY difficult game that requires a lot of patience, timing, and skill... and for the new one, luck... because YOU CAN'T HIT THE RED DEVILS UNLESS THEY'RE SWOOPING AT YOU!

I still haven't found all the light rings. There are almost no online guides, and the few that exist are next to worthless. I've been meandering through the stages, setting off the 'find hidden chest' magic every few paces, killing until I find more ether to use it again. I'm getting so frustrated... and I'll never get the ending where you have all the rings on one playthrough. That's just being spiteful, Capcom. D:

Anyway, back on topic, I picked up Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth. I got suckered into the Ace Attorney series years ago, and the opportunity to play as the prosecution this time was an interesting idea, but though difficult and different in gameplay, and the story was fantastic, I was somewhat disappointed that none of the game actually takes place in the courtroom during a trial. Most of the time you're being stonewalled because INTERPOL claims authority, or accused of crimes yourself, but you end up solving the cases and getting off people who were innocent to begin with. And dammit, can't they have ONE game in the series without Wendy Oldbag & Larry Butz?
