@  furrykef : (25 July 2015 - 03:35 AM)

When was that? Depending on when it was, it might have been a DNS issue. Those should be gone now.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

Red said he couldnt get one

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

I agree with Kaotix' perspective on the Metroid series. I feels weird that I haven't quite noticed it, but you really ARE a bad@$$. Even with the odds against you, they still don't stand a chance. Characters like Gordon and Chell are essentially average people caught in a crisis, but they have the brains and willpower to keep pressing forward which they use to beat the odds. But if there's any FPS I love its definitely Metroid Prime 2. I really like the light/dark concept, literally adding twice as many places to explore, and twice as many enemies. The only thing I don't quite like his how much more mature it is compared to Prime 1. The Ing are almost like the Flood, killing and infecting its host and slowly taking over the place. Seeing all the deceased bodies around showed how much carnage happened before you got there. Prime was kinda like that with the Phazon, but it wasn't taken to lengths like they did with the Ing in Prime 2. Still a top notch game, trying to beat the game again on Hard mode. (Which is crazy!!!!! :icon_e_surprised: )

I like my unlucky everydude's, my problem with freeman and chell is that they make no difference in the long run whatsever - both could've lied down and died in the first level for all the positive impact they had on the world. Heck, they might've been better off if they actually had, then they wouldn't at least not get yanked around and (mis-)used by powers way beyound them anymore. I played both halflive and portal 1 through now, and in the end all the effort felt... useless and wasted. I finished both games and felt cheated. "Why did I bother?"

Portal's fun and well made, but the game world is so goddamn HOPELESS and broken beyound repair. If the game's atmosphere is capable of triggering a depressive episode, I'm not gonna play them, no matter how fun the game itself is.

Even my Shadowrun groups were more positive than portal/halflife and one of them was set in the last few days of a homebrew atomic world war. And the little cook of that campaign was even more outclassed than poor chell, considered the cooks weaponery was a frying pan and some moldy scrambled eggs. At least she managed to safe that cat AND did key the bike of that annoying street samurai.

now that student teaching is done, I can finally start playing video games again

Picked up "Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood." I loved AC2, but I was worried that ACB would be too similar to the previous game and would not keep me interested. I'm glad to be proven wrong. It helps that I friggen LOVE Rome, and the Dan Brownesque style story is enough to grip me.

Funny enough, my favorite improvement over the previous game is actually very simple; the addition of extra objectives in missions to achieve "full synchronization." Because I'm such a perfectionist/explorer/collector, this game has a way of making me want to do everything that's in it. The additional objective gives me more of a goal to shoot for while doing missions, beyond the immediate directive.

Been playing the Gears of War 3 Multiplayer Beta on the 360.

I enjoy King of the Hill a whole lot more than Team Death Match. Will probably try Capture the Leader (a capture the flag variant where each team has a leader that acts like a flag and you capture them by making them a "meatshield" for your player) sometime this week or next week.

Playing through Hexen and having a love/hate relationship with it. Just finished playing through Tribute.wad for Doom2 on Skulltag, very entertaining mapset. My next game to play would be Paranoia for Doom2, which is a very faithful recreation of the Half life style of gameplay and setting, made for GZDoom. For some reason, I keep coming back to these old games, they're far more entertaining than the watered-down modern toss available nowadays. I am pretty confident that I'd much rather be playing Daikatana than subject myself to Cawa-doodie or Halo.

Finished Portal 2 single player through the Developer Commentary...and no mention of the fourth gel they were originally going to use? Odd...

Also just got Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded. If I don't see at least one Tron reference in this game, I will be VERY disappointed.

I've been playing minesweeper myself. It's so addictive, and it pisses me off that I can't beat the expert level (although not enough to stop). Do you know if there are any good "variations" of minesweeper that make it more challenging/interesting? I tried 3D minesweeper and it didn't work quite right.

Also, Eternal Darkness is still awesome. I can't help but wonder if there are any other lovecraft games out there (would play Amnesia, but my computer isn't good enough).

I've recently discovered the joys of Golf solitaire. It's not nearly as frustrating as other versions like Klondike ("plain" solitaire), Freecell, and Spider.

I also like this game I have on my Android phone called Mau Mau. It's basically Uno, but with two traditional 52-card decks and some rules that seem pretty odd at first, but seem natural enough once you're used to them.

I used $45 in best buy rewards from my Grandfather(who didn't want them) and picked up Mortal Kombat for the ps3, and I have to say, I'm impressed so far and I'm not normally a fighting gamer. Now if only the game servers were stable.

Also I don't know if anyone here knows this but Jim Cummings was the Mortal Kombat: The Journey Begins animated movie doing the voices of SubZero and Shang Tsung. You can see it:here

I haven't played with my PSP in forever. Only two games I had was Sonic Rivals (which I haven't touched in a while since it annoys me) and Assassin's Creed Bloodlines, which I also haven't played in a long time.

Playing Dragon Age II so far. Will eventually go back to either Assassin's Creed II or Brotherhood.
