@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

as far as board games go, I'm getting into "go" now, but it is really really HARD to find opponents to play now

You can play me if you don't mind sticking to a 9x9 board. I am almost a complete beginner, though.

I'm probably gonna play Assassin's Creed 2 in a week or so, it looks so cool and I'm surprised the Italian Renaissance has not been used as a game setting yet. Right up my ally with Historical Fiction. I love a good adventure game that pulls you into the action. never could get into shooters for some reason.

I absolutely *loved* Assassin's Creed 2. I would definitely recommend it. smile.gif

fantastic, I trust Morgan's judgement. and I don't mind playing on a 9x9 board too much. I started playing at the beginning of this year, but haven't played much this term.

AC2's story, from when I read about it, didn't sound like it would be very exciting, but it actually is because how they do it. There's also more weapons available to you, you have to go to a doctor when your health is extremely low (or take medicine), you have to repair your armor when it's been damaged. And probably the most important bit of information - no hiding place is safe. You may get away with using a hiding place, but sometimes you will be caught. There are certain guards who will search hiding places and other guards who CAN catch up to you when running in full speed. It's definitely more fun than the first Assassin's Creed. smile.gif

I've been thinking of getting Assassin's Creed (the first one) because I heard it's somewhat similar to the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time trilogy in gameplay. (it's made by the same company I believe, though that doesn't always mean anything) Haven't gotten it yet though on account of wanting to avoid games I'll obsessively play. I don't know if I like the idea of hiding all the time though...

Yeah Assassin's Creed and Prince of Persia are done by the same people. smile.gif I liked the first Assassin's Creed..but I like the second more. And from what I recall, you don't actually have to hide all the time in the first one. I practically killed everyone in the open. tongue.gif

The second Assassin's Creed though requires you kill certain people without being seen. But it doesn't always happens. It's just some missions.

I've played a little of the first Assassin's Creed. It seemed fun at first, but it got stale after a lot of the missions started looking WAY too similar, and I hated the eavesdropping thing. never finished the first one, but I know the ending so I can play the second game and know what's going on. This is just a personal thing, but I find Crusade era Jerusalem much less of a compelling environment than Renaissance Italy. I've spent a lot of time last year studying that period of history, specifically the musical traditions (being a music major). I'd much rather explore Florence than Acre. Plus it looks like they've done a lot of cool stuff with the sequel (weapon system, non safe hiding spots, historical figures making a show, and an involved story). I hope Ezio Auditore is an interesting main character, as he seems to have the personality of an Italian noble.

It makes me want to see a pic of Antoine in the assassin's outfit (I know that's strange, but it would probably look cool).

Final Fantasy X. I'm hoping to max out everyone's stats and destroy the Dark Aeons / Penance. With a bit of luck I should be done by 2013.

Been playing FFT, the lion war. Poached at least one of every best equipment and got all the jobs. Stealing everything from Elmdor is simply the 'norm' now. I've had more of a reason to play chess more than any other game. The reason, I might have explained before that certain situations require imagination and intuition over researching specific game knowledge a.k.a. console and computer games.

I ended up playing Assassin's Creed 2 last week, and I definitely enjoyed it a lot. Lots of variety in the game to keep it from getting stale, and not one, but two compelling stories. The animus is an interesting concept that merges well with "video gamey" mechanics in the story itself.

I just went on to XBLA and bought Sonic the Hedgehog 1-3 for a little over 12 bucks, talk about a great deal. I never actually owned these games when I was younger, as I had a NES growing up instead of a Genesis. I still played the games a bit with my friends who liked sonic, and I very much enjoyed the games during the times I got to play. I'm playing through sonic 2 first, as i'm most familiar with that one.

A lot of you might disagree with me, but I find this game to be incredibly difficult. My roomates in college last year were big retro gamers, and they played the original sonic games a lot during the year, but they made it look really easy. To be fair, my roomate knew where every secret passage or hidden life was, and had amazing timing with some of the jumps. I assume the games will take practice so I can figure out the levels.

Just got through playing Sonic Chronicles a few weeks back. Not a terrible game, but not a lot of replay value. And it would have been nice to be able to level your chao without having to trade them with other people locally (wi-fi maybe?) since I don't have a lot of Sonic fans around me. All in all, I don't regret buying it used, but after all the hype about BioWare, I think they could have done a better job.

Tenkaichi 3 was an awesome game, but Tenkaichi 2 was ultimately better in terms of your options for attacking and defending. Things in 3 seemed almost broken by comparision to its predecessor.

I got Mario and Luigi: Inside Bowser's Story. The game is fun, and great to play, and the storyline is funny as well.
