Red said he couldnt get one

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

An ep we should all know since it was available before the box set.

- teaser - Old saint wizard has a gift for the right person.

During a small raid on Robotropolis to retrieve microchips for her hand-held computer Nicole, Sally is chased into the forbidden zone. There, a masked figure called The Guardian protects his sleeping Master Lazaar.

Everyone now finds out that Lazaar is an old evil wizard with magic. It intrigues leaders like Robotnik, Sonic, Snively, and even Sally to meet the wizard. The forbidden zone is dangerous with traps and deadly perils awaiting.

Who will be going down someone's chimney? Can Sonic make it down before Robotnik comes and gets stuck inside? Will Lazaar's presents rob them of what they value? Sonic - his speed; Robotnik - the very last of his morality.

Ah yes, my first SatAM episode. Good memories. happy.gif I remember catching the clip of this they showed on one of ABC's line-up preview specials, having it scare the shit out of me (the scene they close on is Sonic being snuck up on by The Guardian), and then winding up watching the damned thing anyway the first time it aired. All things told, it's nothing special on the whole, but I rather enjoy it anyway. There are lots of fun little touches here and there, the Sonic/Sally banter is in top shape, and I rather enjoyed SatAM's first major foray into the realm of Magic, particularly since they're cautious to treat it from as technological a viewpoint as possible (Lazar's crystal is referred to as a "computer", after all). Indeed, to me, "Super Sonic" is the perfect "primer" episode to introduce someone to SatAM, as it's a solid overall story and has a lot of the elements that made the SatAM concept so neat.

The biggest thing that has stuck with me all this time from Super Sonic is the part where Antoine is in the Roboticizer, and it powers up. Such a short but visceral moment.

That's Hooked on Sonics. Though I'm sure it's easy to be confused by The Man's nonsensical descriptions.

I personally have a lot of warm fuzzies regarding this episode in particular. I think Lazzar was an understated chatacter. His Yoda-like voice aside, I thought he could have been used to greater potential. I like to think of Lazzar as a "Technomage" more than a typical wizard like Naugus. He could have been Naugus's counterpoint in Season 3, supplying the Freedom Fighters with magical knowledge and tech to properly fight the wizard.

I've always though that it's nifty how magic and technology are compatible and interchangeable in SatAM, rather than the more common tendency fro them to be mutually exclusive, or even counteracting eachother.

If Chief leaves from his lawnchair in the snow he could put my synopsis up for all to read. That way I could link Super Sonic here to this episode.

But if they are not up by Christmas then I might as well put them on Fanfiction.net because they'd be at least somewhere. Or the Pretty Side of Pain. Haven't posted anything at those places in years. I have a feeling by now you know the eps inside and out so maybe it's not that important?

The main thing out of place is the Forbidden Zone. I think of magic more often with this ep. because Sonic's speed loss isn't too prevalent imo. wink.gif

Just another episode really. It has some funny lines (30 seconds is my limit, a chilidog is no malfunction, I despise that miserable hedgehog). The Lazaar-creep seemed pretty deep for a one-off character. I thought we'd see him again in season two but no, just a episode filler it seemed. I didn't really get the ending joke... well maybe I did but I didn't think it was funny enough.

I've seen better episodes but worse too... damn you, Antoine-episodes... damn you...
