@  furrykef : (25 July 2015 - 03:35 AM)

When was that? Depending on when it was, it might have been a DNS issue. Those should be gone now.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

on*

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

Red said he couldnt get one

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

Well, I haven't seen or read the Twilight saga but I already know from reviews, the grapevine and the odd video clip/passage I've seen that I'd hate it. Bella and Ed just aren't my kind of people, I'm afraid. I think any of the movies or books would make me angry; I don't like abuse being paraded as romance, the way it is in Twilight.

So I'll give it a miss, thanks.

Generally I like movies and stories dealing with romance, but the first movie made me gag so, no thanks. I'll pass too.

I'll probably rent it as I did with the first one...having to sit amid the hoards of twi-hards scares me. emot_amy.gif I've read the books and they're ok to me, but definitely not worth even a quarter of the hype they get.

I dunno. Underworld had vampires and romance in it and I quite loved the movies. But not Twilight.

I prefer my Vampire romances with Slayers involved. And, from what little I have seen from the first movie (don't know anything about the books), I also prefer my Vampire romances written by someone who has a clue about the good melodramatics; not that crap.

No thanks. I kinda want to keep my "Movie Manhood Card".

I mean, I can enjoy a film targeted towards women (a.k.a. chick flick) if it's good. Titanic was well written for the most part had displayed some good examples of cinematography, performances, character development, set-design, and even special effects.

The Twilight saga? Nope.

Calling it a "saga" is hilarious. Oh marketing people, what won't you think up next.
I like my vampires evil, or at least to have their general populace evil.
And the idea of making abstinance romance figures out of reanimated corpses, who must feed on the blood of the living to stay alive, is frankly ridiculous.
Hopefully we've all seen this by now

And while it's painfully cheesy and strained even for me, when I saw this on the frontpage of youtube today it summed it up pretty well http://www.youtube.c...eature=featured
It'll be a sad day when Bela Lugosi is replaced by the guy who dies in that awful 4th Harry Potter movie.

PULL THE STRINGS!

Lugosi is still the man.

When I was in high school there was a book series called 'the Vampire Diaries' (which is now a tv show as well, though it's quite different from the source material) and the similarities between VD and Twilight are... well, kind of fishy. xD The author of VD also wrote another series that had some vampires, including special rules required for all supernatural creatures to not alert humans of their existence... which reminds me of the Volturi in Twilight. O.o

Yeah, really. Never mind that part of the appeal vampires have had in modern media since Dracula is inherently sexual. Then again, Stephanie Meyer is a sheltered Mormon housewife, and most of the stuff she writes reflects her narrow view of the world where Volvos are sexy cars, vampire clans have Family Home Evenings with baseball and Milton Bradley games, and it's okay for a boy you've just met to break into your house and watch you sleep without your knowledge or consent as long as he turns out to be your soulmate. That's not even going into the werewolves' "imprinting" that comes into play in Breaking Dawn.

Let the Right One In did the vampire romance thing much, much better. It acknowledged that the romance was messed up and imperfect, and more importantly, the characters involved were genuinely likable.

One thing that amused me when I first read Twilight was the setting...Forks, Washington. That's where I was born xD
Not like that has anything to do with anything. But it's apparently some dinky little logging town that nobody would've even heard of.

But it's sooooo romantic! icon_e_surprised.gif
The fact that she wasn't creeped out, not in the slightest...was weird. And boring. Hell, maybe one can get over someone spying on them as they sleep, just consider it a personal quirk. lol But really, an interesting relationship needs some fights, man! Real arguments and emotional falling-outs. Not this boring Bella 'oh Edward whatever you do is ok, I love you and I'm never -really- angry at you, ever.'

Yes. And it never gets old. smile.gif

Twilight certainly feels more like a franchise than it does a saga. Although the term "saga" is generally used for a pre-planned series (Like LOTR, original Star Wars trilogy, ect), where as "franchise" is used for non-planned sequels (Jurassic Park, Spider-man, Ghostbusters ect.). Though Twilight fits the definition of "saga", the word seems to over glorify the series.

You're welcome tongue.gif

I can't really take credit, though. Not sure if you've ever heard of SAGA holidays, but they organise vacations for pensioners, hence the acronym I mentioned. I don't know what SAGA really stands for, but it's bound not to be as funny as Sex and Games for the Aged, so forgive me if I don't look it up.

lipsrsealed.gif I guess in that sense, "saga" really does relate to Twilight; seeing as how middle-aged women are now sneaking out of stores with the cardboard cut-outs of Robert Pattinson.

I... went a watched the first Twilight movie the other night. Other than 'oh god, oh god why?', I have to say I don't get the appeal. Why does this crap have so many women wet between the legs? It's not even a decent romance movie. I'll go re-watch The Notebook or The Lake house, thank you very much. And as for the Vampires? Geez, what a pack of wusses.

Saw a lady wearing a t-shirt saying 'Buffy staked Edward' the next day. Went to give her a high-five, but... she looked at me weird and told me to fuck off.
