Meh, I think Bunnie was a pretty positive portrayal of southerners. And calling her a "redneck" just because she has an accent proves my point. Bunnie doesn't go out in a pickup truck and make circles in the mud, or drink and cuss- all while bible thumping (the parts they want to thump) incessantly. And I never saw a confederate or "rebel" flag (as almost every proud redneck I've ever known calls it) in her hut. Or a thousand other typical "redneck" activities/traits.
One of the oddest attempts to make her "redneckified" in other media actually came in the lead-up to Mecha Madness.
In which she makes a reference to the Battle of Chickamauga, which is ironic because if you asked the average redneck about said battle they wouldn't know what the fuck you were talking about.
Also, I thought "the south will rise again!" line was incredibly odd, what was the point of that? we already know she's a Southerner, it's not exactly subtle
