So did anyone else enjoy this quality example of animation?
It ran around the same time as SatAM. And while it of course wasn't as smartly written as a Batman:TAS, SatAM or Gargoyles, the animation was solid and the stories were well told. Following the exploits of two junkyard workers who build an advanced fighter jet out of old junk parts (like I said...). The characters could be a little two-dimensional but endearing, with interesting plots that mostly strived to break away from the seeming limitations of the premise.
The show also featured aerial action I would go so far as to say matches or outstrips what you'd seen on the earlier "Tailspin" if that's your sort of thing.
The two main protagonists are genuinely likeable blokes, but these days little of the "fan" attention focuses on them...
Of course a lot of furry pr0n has been made of the "naughty secretary" Callie Briggs

but the one that caught my eye as a lad was Leuitenant (and niece of "we must arrest the vigilantes" police chief) Felina Feral

Meow! If that's your sort of thing.
Of course such a quality series could never warrent a DVD release. Meanwhile all 3 cels of shows ever shat out by Hanna Barbara in the 70s are available. But on the upside it got regular rotation on the boomerang network a few years ago, so good quality copies are I'm sure not hard to obtain by "other means".
All in all if a bit of your heart is still in the mid 90s, I recommend it. And if I were to rate it I'd saaay hm three and a half of four stars.
