@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

Well... Whats the story behind your user name?

As for me it was pretty much just a Nickname people called me at the time.. Still do sometimes. So nothing special but when I joined FUS I decided to go by chief.

Some of you might wonder why I haven't capitalized the 'c' by now, as this is the forth FUS board Ive belonged too. The thing is.. when I first joined FUS I wanted to make sure I wouldn't forget my username (first message board I ever joined) so I left it a little c to avoid confusion on my behalf. Uhm... Well I just stuck with the little c because.. Didn't want to change.

Anyways, whats your story?

I think mine was a reference to Cheez TV, a television program I grew up watching as a kid. The 'Matt' part is... my name.

And that's the end of my story!

Well...Anthony is my real name, and I gained the "Gamemaster" moniker back in college when I was helping everyone with finding hidden stuff and beating bosses in various video games. Nowadays, the Gamemaster name tends to be a reference to my fanfiction.

This is a curious and welcoming topic. So, as for one's choice of username...

Mine is a rather simplistic affair. I'd chosen it as something relatively ambiguous and deliberately ignorable. In this case, it refers to the common planetary material, silicate substances. Glass, sand, all of the interesting materials able to be rendered from the former two. Silicates have a rather diverse set of crystalline formations, and are also quite common, such as in the formation of quartz and clay substances, but also when oxidized, form various gemstones, such as topaz, beryl/emerald, jadite, and... Asbestos! Mind you, the name is meant largely to refer to simple sand.

That, and sand is often referred to in many common terms or idioms. Sands of time, sand slipping through one's fingers, one grain of sand among quintillions, the universe in a grain of sand... Etcetera.

The name also partially referrs to microchips and other technologies which make use of silicon as their primary material; the mundane functionality of the masses of technology. In that same sense, it's also a partial joke as to my standing and Julian Robotnik and his empire of technology: myself, just another gear in the machine; the throwaway worker, and eccentric wannabe. Silicon is also seen as a possible rival to carbon in the formation of forms of life, and in that fashion it parallels the vendetta which Robotnik is said to have against all living/non-Roboticized species of Mobius.

The story behind my name is that its my gamer tag for just about everything. I came up with it... a long time ago and I am pretty sure it was a result of wanting a completely original but recognizable name. I haven't seen anyone else with it yet or a variant for that matter so I am happy. I probably grabbed it from Angels and Demons now that I think about it, its one of my favorite books. I just use An7imatt3r for everything out of simplicity for myself.

An7imatt3r is my XBL gamer tag. I can also be found on Steam by searching it as well.

My user name was from the Sonichq forums, back in 2000/2001. Back then you could post anything without making an account and I would post under the name Jman since my first name starts with a J and then I added 1234 for no reason. Later I wanted to set myself appart from another Jman that was on the forum so I picked a random number to replace the 4 namely 6.

I've used Jman1236 ever since with everything except for Xbox live were I used "Dark Blue Eyes" when I first signed up, it was supposed to be in reference to the Blue-Eyes white dragon from Yu-Gi-Oh! but no one got it. When you could change your gamertag on Xbox 360, I changed it to Jman1236.

My nickname was given to me in high school, because it consisted of two buildings which were 5 blocks apart. I always ran to each of my classes since they were scattered amongst the buildings, and one day during lunch, when I was hanging out with a few of my friends, they looked at me and said, "You know, you're really quite the 'speedy' kid." And since then, I've had that nickname with me to this very day.

My attitude and my abilities. It's a definate article that feels indisriminate. The Gamer or The Sage might also work for me. I've used other titles involving 'max' but decided on that name for here.

My name? Only story behind that is that it's my actual name. Never felt the need to use an alias on a messageboard. When I stalk people though that is a different story. *Stalks Morgan*

The story behind my name is AC is the first letters in my real first and middle name. Strife I got from the dictionary meaning a quarrel, struggle, or clash. Kinda silly but it has worked for me for so long.
