@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

Am I the only person of drinking age who finds alcoholic beverages just flat-out undrinkable? They all taste so horrid. =I

No....Most of the guys in the IRC don't drink...Ive been drinking since I was 14 or so... I admit I drink a bit much now. But I love the taste of beer. The harder stuff I kinda..grew out of. Use to drink it..don't do much of it now.

I'm also not saying under-age drinking is good.. I just happened to start drinking when I was young...By the time I was legal at 19..I was a pro :P

Same here. I've heard about too many lives and families that's been destroyed due to drinking problems...and yeah, that doesn't happen to everyone, but I wouldn't even dare step into that territory. No alcoholic drinks for me.

Shadow always seems to do a lousy job of checking whether the image actually works on the page after hotlinking it. :P (You have to use shift+refresh -- or whatever the command for purging the cache of the current page is for your browser -- to be sure it works.)

Right on brother! Alcohol never ruined my life, in fact if anything its enhanced it. Anyone who is too scared to try it well they are cherries haha. Or most likely underage, but then again that never stopped many folks now has it ;)

I'm 31 and I've never drank any alcohol... We had an acaholic neighbor/family friend. He was seriously messed up. Somone saw him sober once and thought he was sick or something. Now, combine that with the fact that most Native Americans have more of a tendency to get hooked on chemicals, because of a general lack of the tollerances that white people have built up from having used them for many, many generations, and the dangers of not knowing if you're one of those pople whose biological family lacks the gene that codes for the production of the enzymes that allows the body to even metabolize alcohol in the fist place, and you've got a rather good set of reasons to avoid the stuff. Plus, alcohol costs money. Money which I'd rather use to buy the occasional pizza.

Alcohole doesn't destroy families; stupid, weak people do that all on their own. My father was a full time alcoholic and mum eventually divorced him. Beer fueled his problems but it didn't cause them.

Moral of this story? Drink and be hearty! But only if you're not one I those mental whack jobs with 'issues'. :)

Speaking of which I am enjoying my last few cold beers before flying back to Afghan tomorrow arvo. If I don't pop in again before I go then I shall say my bye-byes here and now.

Bye-byes!

Yeah, I'd have to say there's a distinct difference between enjoying the occasional drink and being flat-out alchoholic. I mean, a social drink among friends every now and again is nice. And personally, I think a little glass of red wine in the evening while curled up with a good book or a good movie is a lovely way to relax. But there is a line to be drawn if it seems to be affecting your life. I've seen friends and family members get in serious trouble and even die from alchohol abuse. Like all things, it's just a matter of moderation and being responsible.

Then again, if you're not even fond of alchohol, I guess there's nothing to worry about there! :P No sense in drinking something if you don't like it.

Well, I've never drunk alcohol before and I have no plans whatsoever to even try it. Vlad made a good point too, why waste money on beer and wine when you can use it on better stuff?

Why spend money on Video Games, sports equipment, or even schooling? All that stuff is optional yet people do it.

Nope. Tried some; wasn't impressed. Wine was the most tolerable (to me), but I really don't care for the taste of alcoholic beverages.
