Actually their effective range is 3-5 yards. (you could get more range, maybe) Now, that's possible the very first ones had really short range, but later models can shoot further. Like a cobra 38 can do.

Lucky you. My brother was big into power rangers after he grew out of the Barney phase... I've seen better acting in a Godzilla movie...Never Watched Power Rangers.

Also I was born in the later half of the 80s. So re runs for most of the good 80s shows were still on. Also I caught all the early 90s cartoons
And I was born in 1980. I caught the tail end of the Dukes of Hazzard and cried when it was cancelled. Also the A-Team, Knight Rider, and Airwolf. Unfornuantely, my brother was born in 1991 and I was robbed of being able to watch anything that wasn't something that he wanted to watch for the next 10 years, unless I was staying over ot a friend's house...

I read somewhere that the Fox channel aired Power Rangers right around the time of SatAM. When ABC moved SatAM to another slot to avoid having to compete against Power Rangers, Fox responded by moving Power Rangers to a parallel time slot, overwhelming SatAM with its competition and contributing to the fact that there was never a third season for the rest of us...just an interesting random fact for you.
