Seriously Matt-Patt and proper Research Methodology are like water and canola. There are some great rebuttal videos out there though that make them all the more fun because they trick you into think critically.
Yeah, I can't really stand Game Theory. Ignores contrary evidence, only plays by the laws of the game's world when it suits him, refuses to explain how his theories actually even work in the context of the games, and all in all seems way more interested in trying to "blow peoples' minds" instead of actually proposing complete theories.
That's how a conspiracy theory works. They only accept the facts that work, they ignore contradicting evidence, and they tend to treat the theory as indisputable fact.

Yeah...and to be fair, I never really took Game Theory at face value. The only thing I took away from it was that fact that the narrative of the source material must be SEVERELY borked if THIS kind of theory is being made about it. All MatPat's theories "Mario is Mental", "The Problems with Peach", and "Rosalina Unmasked" prove is that the Mario "canon" doesn't exist because Miyamoto and Co. focused more on gameplay rather than the storyline.
