As long as the game is fun who cares who is on who's team?

That was intentional. I wanted it to be confusing to read.

Personally I'd love to see a futuristic type of capture the flag type game. Set in a stadium where the arena constantly shifts around with moving walls and plateaus, with artificial heat and cold to create rain or snow. The environment would be unpredictable making it harder for both players and to draw the game out longer.

Why not Grifball from Halo??

I actually like it when they face a real supernatural event and have to come to terms with the unknown. I thought the Zombie Island flick was really intresting as it forced them to think outside their formulaic, monotonus shtick. That's also why I like Mystery Incorporated. It was very postmodern take on the mythos and it deepen the subtext from the trite modernitic formula.

I liked Scooby Doo and the Alien Invaders, if for no other reason than to hear Mark Hamill say "Real Aliens!"
(He voiced one of the bad guys pretending to be aliens and was amazed when real ones showed up.)

Not like they didn't face the Boo Brothers and other supernatural events before that.
Mystery Incorporated Suffers from the "make the characters more believable by giving them dark pasts/histories and intergroup conflict" problem. It spends too much time developing characters in ways that are stupid. WHO CARES IF YOUR DOG KNOWS YOU LIKE SOMEBODY? It's stupid. They also made Fred reeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaally stupid.
It's like comparing The New Archie Comic Universe to the Old One. They changed, but not necessarily improved upon anything.

*Shuts your mouth* Don't mention that show ever again...Flim Flam will come back. I mean serious supernatural occurances. Like Chuthulu quality.
I don't know...when you compare it to the old Scooby-Doo in it having a continuity of events that build off each other (you know, like real episodic stories do) you can say it is improvment. And I suspicious of your claims, you seem to be oversimplifying. Perhaps you are in league with the slimy devil Chargargothakhan!
Oh no...they have. At least the characters are no longer static and there is actuall continuity.

Like the first season of SatAM, oh wait...no it didn't. Actually very rarely did Cartoons before the 90s do that.
And I suspicious of your claims, you seem to be oversimplifying.
I am for the sake of argument. I haven't watched more of Mystery Inc. than the first episode, but that was enough for me to not want to watch further. The Mystery wasn't all that good, I never felt scared, and I found the new "deeper" characterization uninteresting and more over stupid fluff to what otherwise was good show.
By no means do I say Mystery Inc is Bad, but rather it isn't an Improvement. What it changes has both it's plus sides and it's negative sides. But balance that all out and the show isn't any better than the old one. It hasn't improved anything, but that doesn't mean that it can't be a good show.

The one thing I couldn't stand about Mystery Inc. was how they made Freddy into a dork; I got tired of his unhealthy trap fetish. That was almost all he went on about, or so it would seem.

Freddy never was a genius, and he always made elaborate traps. However they were elaborate because he was using the tools on hand to make something, not because he TRIED to make them elaborate. He also had other interests other than traps, which seem to have gone out the window. They do try to portray Mystery Inc as a continuation, and you can see that with some of the other characters, but Freddy just seems wrong.

Satam did indeed have continuity, season one was building up to such forwards and backwards in the plot. For example with Uncle Chuck's arc and the consequence of the Coupe en medias race.
Wha'? Then how do you expect to make an accurate argument in the first place by over-generalizing? ![]()
That's like burning your house down to wash your car.
That's uncool man...that's like just watching Heads or Tails to judge the rest of Satam. Don't get in the habit of over-generalizing like that now. It ain't good for dem critical thinkin' skills.
I agree with Bytor, who has watched the show, however... Freddy's a bit to hot about dem traps.
Fred: "Mmmm...me gusta Pungie-pits. "

If the first episode doesn't hold my interest, and wasn't enjoyable, why should I invest my time in watching more?
Because pilots and early episodes don't fully represent a series. You can't judge books by their covers...you're being a bit unfair. You can't hate on something that you haven't even scratched the surface on. I didn't dare judge Twilight untill I read the first book and watched the movies (which was a painful experiance). Then I throughly critiqued them, and my mother hates it 'cuase I make good points about it setting woman back into 1300's. ![]()
That would be like me judging Sorzo's taste for MLP when I haven't watched a single episode.
