Red said he couldnt get one

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

Some say that he knows 2 facts about ducks, and both of them are wrong. And that 61 years ago he accidentally introduced Her Majesty The Queen to a Greek racialist. All we know is, I'm going to the tower now to have my head cut off, and he is called The Stig.

That may be, but the GOP seems to give even less of a fuck, especially right now.

i dunno, the Dems have had a "Our way or the highway" mindset over the past few months.

Honestly, i support the defundment of Obamacare. Not because i dont think everyone should have access to health insurance (everyone should be covered) BUT there are some really shifty things that are in the bill, such as its adding another tax thats "not considered a tax", the Gov't have access to your bank account if under their system, Congess/Senate/President are exempt forever among others. What the U.S. needs is a system like Massachusetts has:

If there's a problem with the bill then the correct procedure is to make a new amendment to the bill, not use the threat of a government shutdown as a power play.

That i agree with. But their heads are so far up their asses (both sides) its not gonna work.

Back home people are trying to oust our representative in Congress, they want her replaced by someone new

The Dems don't have their heads up their asses -- not on this particular issue, at least. The GOP is being obstructionist. They are the ones causing this whole shutdown. They are the ones running this country into the ground for their own personal gain.

That the Dems refuse to cave in to the GOP's hissy fit doesn't make them equally responsible.

Both sides are equally responsible for the shutdown because instead of addressing their opponent's claims they spent the entire time yelling at each other and demonizing the opposing side.

The shutdown was not just caused by one side. Neither side was willing to budge period.

If either were open to a compromise, this would not have happened.

The Dems are not open to compromise because no compromise should be necessary. The Republicans already fought this battle once and they lost it fair and square. Now they're resorting to dirty tactics to try to get their way anyway. If it weren't for the Republicans, there would be no shutdown because there would be no obstruction. They are the ones who started it by only presenting the Senate with budgets that delayed or blocked Obamacare. They are trying to bully the Senate into getting their way even though in no way do they deserve to. You don't compromise in the face of such behavior.

Just because there are two sides does not mean that the ideal is somewhere in the middle (this is the "golden mean fallacy") or that both are equally responsible. Imagine for the sake of example we had this scenario:
PARTY 1: Let's kill every firstborn child in the country.
PARTY 2: Let's not.
PARTY 1: Well if we can't agree I guess the government's going to have to shut down then!
PARTY 2: Guess so.

Obviously you can't put any blame on Party 2 here, nor is there any compromise to be found. What would the compromise be? Kill only half the children?

Now, I'm not saying the GOP wants to kill babies (besides, that's more of a Democrat thing ;)); I'm just saying it's fully possible for only one side to be in the wrong here.

I have to plans to solve this:

1. Completely abolish the 2 party system

2 Restart the Trinity Tests and take all Senators/Reps as test subjects

The NSA probably doesnt approve of the 2nd one

I think by this point the US would probably be better off if all the seats in Congress had recall elections to replaces the douches we currently have...and to make sure the only candidates eligable for election are those that will allow for compromise.
