@  furrykef : (25 July 2015 - 03:35 AM)

When was that? Depending on when it was, it might have been a DNS issue. Those should be gone now.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

on*

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

Red said he couldnt get one

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

PS: Just by curiosity, can anyone tell me how the school system work in the US? I mean, how many years in school do you have and all before the cegep and university. I'm just curious to see if it work just like here...

You start in Kindergarten, at age five. Afterwards is Elementary School (grades 1-4), Middle school (5 & 6), Junior High (7 & 8), and High school (9-12). Thirteen years total, assuming your not held back.

Of course, what makes or breaks any schooling system is what actually happens in the schools. My district was... inadequate in many areas.

Was a little different where I was.

Elementary was grades 1 through 5 for me, and Middle school and junior high were the same thing (6-8).

High school was the same.

In Spain is "Educacion primaria" (6 years), 6-12 years. "E.S.O, Educación Secundaria Obligatoria" (4 Years) 12-16. Normaly, most of spanish have E.S.O. Few quit before.

After finish E.S.O, everything is "optional". E.S.O is not obligatory, but if you don't finished it, you looks like an ignorant and also a failer student. E.S.O. in general, is not "very" hard and most of the jobs ask at least E.S.O.

After finish E.S.O you can chose to study a "grado" or "Instutito/Bachiller", similar to High School.

Grade if just a job study...is like study for example...electronic. Is just 2 years study electronics.

Instituto is an upgrade of general knowledge, you know, maths, phisics, chemistry....etc. There is three type of high school. Technologic, Biologic and Social. The first one is maths, the second is science and the last history/economy.

Both, Grado and Instituto are 2 years. (16-18)

After finish one of those, you can choose University (Universidad) or Superior Grade.

University was studying career of 3 - 5 years. And also you can doctorate in something studying plus 3 years, making some carreers 8 years. Anyway there is a new law that all the career are 4 years, so there is no more 3-5, just 4.

Superior grade is 2 years more about again, studying jobs. Normaly, is an improvement of the basic studies of the grade.

Is like say, I'm studying superior electronics.

To make this simple is

Kindergarden -> Primaria --> E.S.O -> Bachiller -> Universidad

Afer E.S.O you can choose between Bachiller or Grade.

After Bachiller, you can choose between Superior Grade or University

Let's say Grades are aux studies.

No one ask it but hey, since I learned a lot thanks to you, I want to contribute adding the spanish education.

By the way, if you ask me. I finished E.S.O and Bachiller (Technologic). After that I'm studying a superior grade of "Sistema de Desarrollo de Aplicaciones Web", even not translated, I think you can guess what it is since most of the words are similar to english, only desarrollo that is "development". Is just a Superior Grade about Web design, you know...HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, programming on Java etc...

By the way, I back to the shadows. See ya.

homer_bushes.gif

That was actually interesting! I see that your school system is closer to ours than the one in the US. Heck, some of the name are the same (but named with our respective language, of course).

In our school, if you reach a ''secondaire 3'', you can get a DEP (i don't remember what it mean :/ ). Most of the jobs require that now. If you continue to ''secondaire 5'', to the cegep and university, it's for more professionnal carrer/jobs.

And for the Homer picture, weird...and creepy.....

In September, my girlfriend will have to return to Montreal for her university. This is the closest university from Valleyfield (my local town), the other one is at Quebec City (3-4 hour away). She succeed in school way more than i did and i'm really proud for her. Now it's my time to succeed....or died trying *suspens music*....okay, that was maybe too overdramatic :P

Here is on E.S.O where you can find more assholes.

As I said, E.S.O even the name is called "obligatory" it isn't, but most of the parents force their childrens to finish it. As I said, don't finish this means that you are a stupid ignorant.

Get this straight. I'm not against ignorants, there is people that like learn, and other that only like work. There is people who doesn't had E.S.O and lived until some years ago like kings working on the agrary sector or as builder. Now, 90% of the last are unemployed because the "brick crisis"...you know, one of the biggest crisis in the history of Spain that we are having right now, making most of the spanish people unemployed. I never had a spanish job. I'm right now working via online in a Singapour company. Most of my friends are fighting for dirt jobs...I mean, job where you work 10h/daily, 6/7 days of the week for 400€ monthly...that is trash.

Back to the topic....

As I said, even E.S.O is not obligatory, is like it is, because parents force children to finish it. Since most of the childrens are forced to stay there, you can find a big amount of assholes that, since they doesn't learn, they decide to disturb other people to learn, making the class a completely mess.

In Bachiller is diferent, is considered as a university. If you are there, is because you WANT to learn, normaly people who doesn't want to continue studying "weird" subjects such maths or biologic or science etc etc... choose a grade, and those who doesn't want to keep studying, just look for a job.

My life was simple. When I had 15 my class was full of shit people. Kids of 15-16 years that only thinks on get drunk, smoke, drugs, party, and sex.

When I finished E.S.O and enter in Bachiller, is au contraire. I was in the group of the "ignorants" and most of the people there was freaking nerds. When I say this I say because was practicaly impossible to get along with them. Is like in the movies that they say "We are superior than you, you don't deserve to speak with us". More or less the same.

In the Superior Grade is where I find a lot of friends, if you choose a web design grade, is because you like it. Since everyone there like it, you create "links" with most of the class, helping each other and making a more "friendly" class. That doesn't mean that there isn't jerks or something similar, but 85% of the classmates are very friendly. Without doubt, is where more friends I make.

On 9 September during the recording of Helter Skelter, 18 takes of approximately five minutes each were recorded, and the last one is featured on the original. After the 18th take, Ringo Starr flung his drum sticks across the studio and screamed, "I got blisters on me fingers!

(Go to about 4:23 to hear it)

My sincere good luck with middle school, you gonna need it.

My memory with middle school are far from good. My first year in middle school was in 2003....and never finished my work at middle school since. I change from school to school many time, and had to restart my earlier middle school years....for nothing. School commission never register my work so far and i had to start all over again. More than 5 years wasted for nothing. If all that mess could have never happen, i'll be in university right now....just thinking about it just make me feel sick...

No wonder why i gave up school in 2008. This is going to be better this year, they said.........what a cruel joke!

I don't know if the school system work better in the US than in Canada, or if it work the same...but as for us (Canadian), the system is downright broken. But when i think how the rate of success is higher in Canada than in the US, i don't know what to think of it....but it's not like i really want to think about it anyway.

PS: Just by curiosity, can anyone tell me how the school system work in the US? I mean, how many years in school do you have and all before the cegep and university. I'm just curious to see if it work just like here...

Here in Southern California, elementary school starts from Kindergarten-5th. Middle school is 6-8, and high school is 9-12. Aaliyah is in 6th grade now. ^_^ Thanks Alex for wishing my daughter luck in middle school. Haha i pray for her, cause i remember my middle school years, they were socially and somewhat physically rough for me. My daughter has a good advantage...she's very social and active so she'll most likely find new friends to hang out with. xD And also she's big for her age, so noone's gonna try to pick on her. If they do she'll punch them in the face hahaha!

 I'm almost finished with my SATam parody video hahaha. *whew* i've been working on it for a long time. Now i got some extra time to do my final clips. Hopefully if time's on my side i'll be done by wednesday.

But anyway, let me move on to the replies...

LOL wow, he sounded like he was really in pain too.

On a personal note,  my dad is OBSESSED with The Beatles LOL. So i basically grew up on their music,  and their music is so awesome and influencial. Also, i was born the day after John Lennon died. :guiltysmiley: My dad thought it was a sign or something, not sure
